My Italian Grandma taught me to knit when I was a child. I made scarves, blankets, in plain stitches for years becuase I could not read knitting directions... imagine that! My first project using directions was a Christmas Stocking that a friend of mine had been working on. She agreed to help me if I got stuck... well, much to my surprise, I didn't get stuck and I've been making lots and lots of interesting things since then. I'm currently hooked on knitting socks from the toe up, two at a time on circular needles ... LOVE IT!!! quick! portable!!! and everyone can enjoy them. On a recent trip to Sienna, Italy I found this great yarn store... they had to drag me out!!!

KIP is forf Knitting In Public. I KIP at the mall in Vero on some Wed with a wonderful group of ladies. They are always there. I can't always make it. I KIP in Jensen Beach at Barnes and Noble on Tues and Thurs. My favorite place to buy yarn locally unfortunatly is Knit or Knot in Stuart although Michaeals has a nice selecion. Especially in Traditions and the Vero mall. The Black Sheep Knitters is what the Tues and Thurs group call themselves. Sometimes with our projects or designe elements we feel like black sheep when we compare ourselves with the knit wizards. Those very accomplished.
I was blessed to be part of the KIP at the mall Saturday and met some lovely ladies. I am looking forward to another Sat KIP. We enjoyed it so much we want to plan another. I am glad youre close. I am in Fort Pierce and join the Black Sheep Knitters in Jensen Beach Barnes and Nobles. Happy knitting.
