Hi Lainy, Ravelry.com is a major Knitting Community. I've just recently returned to knitting, so I'm slow going on projects. A friend told me of Ravelry, so I signed up and have learned so much from there. They have a notebook for you put pics of our stash and also your library of knitting books. Plus there are so many links to all of the different yarns and books. You can save things to a queue that you want to make and also see pics of others projects and what fibers they used. That is helpful to me, as I'm still learning alot about the different yarns and how they knit up differently. When I signed up, there was about a 2 week waiting list, so I'm not sure how long it is now. I really suggest that you sign up though, as I know you won't be disappointed. There are also lots of groups that you can join to read their BB's. It's wonderful!

I go by WoolieChelle on Ravelry, so when you get in, look me up.

Happy Knitting!

Chelle

About Me:
The photo is of my grandmother "Nanny" at about age 16 (Emma Jeska Ryder.) Everyone says I look just like her, and I like the dress! I am young great grandmother who has been playing (and working) with fiber arts since childhood. It is only recently that I have gotten an obsession with knitting, however. Past forays into knitting included using my handspun yarn for the children's winter hats, and other small projects. About 3 years ago, I learned to do Fair Isle using both Continental and English knitting at the same time. I love it. Lately, I've been making wool socks for the family, and am learning the magic loop method. I've had especially good luck "fulling" the wool socks that turned out too large, and fulling a great Fair Isle hat for a handicapped friend. I wasn't sure if the patterns would still be nice after fulling, but it turned out great.

Oh, the JOY of learning!

Thank goodness for Knit Picks! What awesome folks you are! To have a site to learn, and buy the stuff you need to play with what you've learned - and a place to share and talk about it, as well, is beyond belief. Especially considering the problems shop owners have with web page designers - won't even go there.

Having fun to "try to" learn the >Toe Up Two at a Time Magic Loop< socks. (is there a frowning "smiley" to add to this?) The poor staff at Knit Picks are sick of me - and have pol… Continue
