I learned to knit at age 8 with my two older sisters. I'm now 61. I joined a knit group 4 years ago and the sessions are my 'mental health' time each week. My knitting repertoire has expanded a lot since joining the group. I've tried lace knitting, socks, and even felting/fulling.
I am a multi-craft person. I knit, crochet, needle tat, sew, bead, & embroider. I have tried and abandoned quilting [except for the piecing], macrame, scrapbooking, boat building, among other crafts. I also do some gardening, and help with building wood projects with my husband.
I often make things to figure out the process, not because I want the end product. I call it 'creative curiosity.' Then, more times than not, I give away my creative 'curiosity' items. My husband does not understand this.
I'm a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. My husband and I are retired and enjoying the lack of the daily grind. I volunteer with the DAV and the AARP tax program since retiring. Oh yes, I was an attorney.
