About Me:
It all started so innocently. I picked up knitting as a means of productive procrastination while working on my masters degree and became hooked. I knit all sorts of odd things from garments to the squid-that- would- be- giant- if- it- were- not- mini for friends and family. I also use this as a justification for hording yarn and collecting knitting books and needles.

Knitting Holiday

Yeah! I have decided that my day off before thanksgiving will be a knitting holiday. I have decided to devote my day to dreaming about all things woolly, silky, and maybe even synthetic if the color suites. This day will begin with viewing "knitting porn" on ravelry while enjoying my coffee. All of those clever projects in fabulous yarns to fantasize about making (if I only had the time). It must be the colder weather that has piqued my interest in double knit mittens. I plan to carry out phase… Continue

hurricanes & holidays

The new job has eaten up almost all of my time. I manage to knit a little bit in order to maintain my sanity. The fair isle baby sweater has been sitting in completed pieces since August. I have to block and finish it before my daughter outgrows it. I have managed to squeeze in a couple of wash cloths for a charity auction. I finally figured out what to do with this lovely mohaire, silk blend wool--a lacy scarf. I don't know if I will have much time for a knitted christmas this year. Perhaps I c… Continue

to finish UFOs or start new projects?

It seems that I can never quite stick to one project at a time. The last skein of coal DK swish that I needed to finish the fair isle baby sweater from Knit 1 has arrived. I could conceivable finish it today or tomorrow. I think my sock yarn tasting scarf may finally be nearing completion. It was one of those projects for which there is no real plan or pattern and it just has to feel finished. I will need to start another small project that fits in my purse. I think perhaps it is time for my all… Continue

Time off

I was lucky to get some knitting done on the bus home from a field trip today. I am looking foreward to staying up late and knitting while watching Britcoms. I am hoping to finish the fair isle baby dress. I know this sounds very exciting. The prospect of not having to be at work tomorrow morning is absolutely intoxicating.
