About Me:
I started knitting as a young girl taught by my mother who was an excellent knitter. Knitting came in and out of my life depending on my free time with school and, then, family. I even knit the dreaded boyfriend sweater (2 of them) not knowing that it was bad luck! No bad luck from that slip up though as we have been married since 1965. We work together owning a staffing service in Colorado. Several years ago I returned to knitting full force and am “never not knitting” always having several projects going at once. Knitting centers me and helps me relax after long hours at work. My husband calls me “Jeannie Scissorhands” joking about the rate that projects fly off my needles. I like to alternate sweaters, shawls, scarves and afghans with fun bits of knitting to add whimsy. And socks, don’t get me started! I have made dozens. There is something so magical about making a sock.

Thanks for the felted heart info, Jeanne. I'll check out the Mochi mochi blog page. It can be part of my new attempts to be thrifty in my knitting!

Hi Jeanne,
Thanks for your comment about my snowmen. I'm ashamed to say that I cheated a bit with the eyes and buttons. The pattern designer, Melissa, is nearby, and so I asked her where she got her beads for the eyes. She gave me a few she had left over from her original project, and then sent me on to "Bead City" here in Vancouver, WA. I found her original square beads, and also some neat, lumpy onyx beads. (I also had some round beads, but they just didn't look as good.)
I'm very humbled by my co-workers here - somehow they just *know* what would look good, what colors go together, what shapes look best. It's wonderful to be exposed to their creativity, and I'm becoming a much better knitter since starting to work here. Still a long way to go, though!
