Thanks for your comment about my snowmen. I'm ashamed to say that I cheated a bit with the eyes and buttons. The pattern designer, Melissa, is nearby, and so I asked her where she got her beads for the eyes. She gave me a few she had left over from her original project, and then sent me on to "Bead City" here in Vancouver, WA. I found her original square beads, and also some neat, lumpy onyx beads. (I also had some round beads, but they just didn't look as good.)
I'm very humbled by my co-workers here - somehow they just *know* what would look good, what colors go together, what shapes look best. It's wonderful to be exposed to their creativity, and I'm becoming a much better knitter since starting to work here. Still a long way to go, though!
