It's COLD in Detroit too!!
And it's a wet cold - the coldness just sinks into your bones. That is why I am knitting a hat and scarf set for MYSELF for once. Folk around here seem to steal projects right off my needles - Oh, OK, I caved in when they would plead, "I gotta have it, please, please, please . . ."
Of course, I have made some gifts I wish I could have kept, like the lovely and cuddly and sumptuous shawl I knit for my Aunt Jean, and the Lily Chin hat and scarf set I made for my friend Amal (and she doesn't wear it! What's up with that?). So I am all excited now to be working on a blue and white baby bunting for my friend Vince's new son, Steven -- it has a zippered opening, my first in a knitted garment, so I am looking forward to learning how to do this insertion. I am doing a slip-stitched puppy dawg on the back --it's so key-oot!!
OK, enough procrastination. I am in a Masters of Library and Information Science program for an Archival certificate, and I am way behind in my homework. I have to get in 3 hours of homework, then I can spend an hour knitting myself to sleep . . . [October 28, 2008 - Tuesday]
