My aunt taught me to knit when I was eight years old. That was long ago. I have four shelties. They are the light of my life now that my children are grown and have families of their own. Excited to meet fellow knitters and talk about knitting.

I'm just back from a quilt retreat--saw the airing of the quilts in Huntsville, Texas--great inspiration!! Back go spinning dog hair--I don't know where to find info--I did it while living in Vancouver, BC--we treated it just like any other fiber for spinning. Sort according to color, or blend the colors. I spun it on a wheel, it could be easier than by spindle. You may having a spinning/weaving group in your area, you could contact them for info. There are magazines and books, check the internet/library!!--good luck, it's fun!!
you have a great source of knitting fiber on the paw!! With four shelties, you should have enough fiber from the numerous brushings to spin some beautiful yarns. I've used collie brushings--you separate the colors and go right to the spinning--resulting in some wonderful tans and cream. I had a samoyed--great wool source!! Welcome to the site!
