hin hello again dianna, yes the 6th form is for the students who g et good grades in their exams ie gcse s.
instead of leaving school they go back to the 6th form in se ptember to learn higher education and at the ed of 2 years they take their a level exams and if the g rades are good ie a*- c s
they can go on to university.
children start school at 4 yrs old, they start in reception, then on to ks1 (key stage one) they go on to junior school and stay there till they go up to secondary school at 11 years old.ks4
then they leave at 16 and either get a job or go to college.
hope ive explained it allright.
my grandkids live about 6 miles away but i dont see them very often only when my eldest daughter wants a free baby sitter, its her birthday this saturday she will be 33 years old.
my youngest zoe wil be 16 in may, she has a friend with aspergers who she emails as he lives in a different part of the country,i think he goes to a main stream school but gets a teacher assistant to help him in the classroom.
So is 6ih form between elementary and high school or is it pre-college or college? (US - grades are K-12, and elementary school is K-5, middle school is 6-8 (usually age 11-13+) and high school is 9-12 (usually 14-18). Pre college would be like going to a community college which would expand or improve on what you already know and College is, well, college - where you would get a specific degree. I know the school system in England is different - my niece did a year as an exchange student while in College and we talked about it then, but that was 10+ years ago. I hope you live near your grands - mine all live at least 6 hours away. I get to see them only a couple times a year. The oldest, Nick, is in his first year at college. Erin, who is the 16 year old, is in 11th grade in high school; Kyle is 11 - and is in 6th grade this year. Our youngest, Dex, is in Kindergarden. Dex has Aspergers syndrome - a mild form of autism - and the teachers are trying to decide if it will be best for him to attend a special school or a regular school with support.

About Me:
I love to knit! I learned to knit in my 20's and have been at it ever since. Family are the lucky (?) recipients of most of my knitting projects, although I have plans for many projects for myself. I sew, crochet, hook rugs, weave rugs, and sometimes do embroidery, but my first love is knitting. I also love to cook for crowds.
