Posted on July 5, 2011 at 10:46am 56 Comments

This is my first year participating in the Tour De Fleece festivities. First I made some goals.

I will dye my own fiber this year. (I have never dyed before)

I will work with wools I haven't spun before

I will improve my long draw

I will experiment with diffierent plying methods

I will have fun

First I had to pick which fibers I would dye and how I…

Still spinning

This is gonna have to be a fast and furious blog cause that has been the pace of my life lately and if I'm not careful everything will truck on without me. Momentum, what can you do about it?

so I got a spinning wheel at the end of February. Here it is, my Kromski Sonata in walnut, some of you will notice that even though I tried like hell to have a wheel different from my mums, I don't. I am really happy with it, even though we have had a few troubles.…

and the kids too.

I don't have a ton of blog time so this is a picture blog. Christmas brought many fiber related gifts.

Like yarn my mom, The Blue Lake Knitter, spun and dyed for me.…

Adventures in knitting...when nothing goes right

I cast on so many times too many times, more than twenty, maybe even more than that indiscernable number.

After mom left I took the skein of KP…

Congratulations on your new wheel! I hear it's going well! I do think there is a lot of carryover from spindle to wheel and vice versa. Enjoy!

Hi. I happened to take a look at who was on line tonight and saw your 'name'. I've been enjoying some visiting with your mom and a few others for the past few weeks. I have (many) daughters of my own who take part in fiber activities of one sort or another, so I just wanted to say I think it's great you are getting involved with knitting and everyone here. I've taken a look at your pics and, wow! I love some of those yarns.
