About Me:: I am a knitter who will try any fiber related craft once (or more than once). Though I first picked up a pair of knitting needles when I was 9, I have only considered my self a knitter (as appose to some one who can knit) the last 7 years. Definitely a process knitter, not a project knitter. A few months ago I had my first few lessons on drop spindling, so I envision this will enable my knitting quite nicely.

Where is a good place to stay in Portland, OR?

Hi Everyone! I get to visit Portland, OR during the last week of February and am really excited about it. I am attending a big conference (school/work related) at the Oregon Convention Center. Unfortunately the hotel rooms the conference recommends are all booked up. So, I thought I'd ask the wonderful knitters of Portland if they know of any good places to stay. Keep in mind that I am a student on a limited budget, and I'll most likely have to use public transportation to get around.

I was reading your profile, when I noticed you are from Maine. I literally said out loud to my self "Oh my god, she's from Camden, Maine!" I know, sounds weird. But I so absolutely love Maine, and am jealous of anyone who gets to live there. Especially along the coast. I love the state motto, and quote it often around here. :o)
