I think a lot of us learned to crochet before knitting, I did, I crocheted a ton of things, since I was 21, for my first little girl, I do still crochet when I want to make a blanket, it goes faster, I like the work you have done, wwhen did you really learn to knit, I envied the people who did and wanted to learn so bad, so took lessons. just love it, I am 10 years older then you are,and have slowed down with my hands, how are yours, still going strong. happy knitting, Irene

thanks...I'm getting addicted to cables and to knitting....this bunting I'm doing, though, is crocheted and it has cables too. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. I like to knit more than I like to crochet though.

Thanks for the kind words! I learned to knit 28 years ago, but really didn't start knitting in earnest until the summer of 2007. Now I am a bit obsessed. I love your cabled sweaters!

Right now I am finishing my 4th slouch hat with matching scrarf. My daughter's friend is pregnant and I've just completed my swatch to crochet her a bunting. The bunting takes in different stitches. Once completed (if all goes well), I will insert a lining. What's strange to me is that the pattern called for a gauge of 4 sc =1" using a "H" needle...well I had to go down to an "F" needle and it worked out but I'm a little uneasy having to go down needles that far.... however, I am about to start on that project. Usually, I can work with the needle called for in the pattern. Oh Well. I thought you lived in NC? Are you in GT? No I haven't worked with bamboo yarn...no special reason not to...I usually go out to JoAnn's in Brandywine for yarn or the Internet...where does your husband purchase yarn? That was a very nice offer. Thank You. Debbie...what is a thread?
I haven't been able to work out due to illness then the Blizzards...so yesterday I went swimming (body sore from that), today I Spinned (knees, thighs & calves sore from that) .... pain pills called me and I answered (thank heavens). I think I will soak in the tub some more and let the jets do their work. Debbie what are "gr8" folks...you referred to them in one of your emails.

Thanks Debbie...I've added some of my work (didn't want to take up all the space)...hope you like them. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA but since I've been in MD for over 30 years...well one is a Marylander? We are still digging out from the Blizzard(s) and the streets are yuky..snow, ice, dirt, etc. One has to resort to one's hobby to keep one's sanity. Let me know what you think of the projects .. Believe it or not I haven't got up enough nerve to participate in a knit-a-long.
