I just love your sewing machine. I wish I had room for an old fashioned Singer. Gee they made good machines then. My machine is a 1950's Singer, electric, with cams for fancy stitches, which I seldom use. They tried to talk me into trading it in 25 years ago, offered me $200 of a new, plastic machine, which danced the fandango and sang the national anthem in 25 different languages. I asked the salesman what he was doing to do with my machine, sell it second hand. They had a whole table of second hand machines for wale. "Oh no" he assured me. "We would not sell it, we would throw it on the rubbish tip." Yeh, I told him, and be careful of the flying pigs. Well old Betsy is still going strong, I wonder if the plastic model he wanted to sell me is still doing the same???
