Thanks Buffy! My sister has been after me to post pictures for quite a while, and now armed with your helpful information, I think I just may be able to do that. Question - what does HTH mean? :o) Wendy
Well as I said before, I would never have guessed this was a new craft to you. lol I took a look at your ravelry page, very nice! I really have got to figure out how to post some pictures over there. For some reason I can't seem to figure it out. Wendy
Re: My Birthday - I got to spend some of today knitting, and I'm planning a trip to the LYS later this week as well as an order from KnitPicks soon. I plan to spend a lot of this year knitting & interacting with my new knitting friends.
Hi Buffy, how are you? thank you for your support of my (not knitting) block ,and for your suggestion about my sewing machine ,that was exactly the way i was thinking, But i took it to get a second opinion, and it was the gears!! . i looked at all of the machines that she had (this lady actually repairs the machines) and i did not like any she showed me, she talked me into repairing it!!! so that is the way for now ,, i hope i don't regret it,,And you are right the older ones are the better ones.,,.I do have an old singer that i will have repaired if possible it used to be a crank style but later turn into electric so hope that works ,,enough said .
Your quilt is beautiful, i just love it, you have inspired me to get cracking as soon as i get my machine back ,,, also your machine is just to die for ,i never thought that i could want a machine like yours but i do!!!!
Are they hard to fined ?,,, i ask only because DH and i are going to Texas for 4 months dec 1 to apri 1 and i will keep my eye open just to see if i find a machine like yours.., of course the sewing has to go with me, & comp & knitting & books lol forget the DH haha...well don't ask whats on my needles,,,but what are you doing just now? the weather is changing now frost in the mornings and dark i call it the cosy time, time to hibernate..
Do you work Buffy? we are retired , sometimes i wish i still worked just for the fun of meeting and talking to people that part i miss ..well love thank you for allowing me to rant on a bit,i hope you weren't bored . take care ,speak soon , and again thanks for your support,,,,, hugs --norma--
I just love your sewing machine. I wish I had room for an old fashioned Singer. Gee they made good machines then. My machine is a 1950's Singer, electric, with cams for fancy stitches, which I seldom use. They tried to talk me into trading it in 25 years ago, offered me $200 of a new, plastic machine, which danced the fandango and sang the national anthem in 25 different languages. I asked the salesman what he was doing to do with my machine, sell it second hand. They had a whole table of second hand machines for wale. "Oh no" he assured me. "We would not sell it, we would throw it on the rubbish tip." Yeh, I told him, and be careful of the flying pigs. Well old Betsy is still going strong, I wonder if the plastic model he wanted to sell me is still doing the same???
