There are a few pieces of info that it would have been nice to have in the pattern that are not there... that is one of them. Hope all goes well. If you need any other help, post in one of the Montavilla discussions, and someone will get back to you a whole lot quicker.

No problem, Betsey. Even many of the experienced knitters have had problems with this pattern. I know our comments are verbose and go off on lots of tangents, but it may be worth looking at and makng notes. Please feel free to post any questions. These directions are not the best.

You can post questions under any of the discussion groups. And there is a follow button on the bottom right of each page. If you click on that you will receive emails when someone posts a new comment in that discussion.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Although I've knitted a while, I only started being involved in these KALs last February with the Mr. Foster KAL.

Hey, Betsey, Susan is correct the base should be approx 8" x 8". I think the pattern should have been written in terms of repeats rather than inches. This would have made for a lot less confusion.
