Hi there! Isn't it fun! When I signed up I noticed I already had a bunch of friends...it must be from being on Ning for eTatters and Stitchin' Finger's too! It's always fun to "see" someone else I "know"!

I think it will work!!? I haven't knit a lot of things from a chart, but actually prefer the chart. Have a hard time finding stuff charted if it's from Leisure Arts- which is the only thing available locally. I have started to buy books online and am loving that. I have a lot of things that are charted now...
Need to get busy making them. :)

Hi- I saw your comment somewhere else about the 'no stitch' note in your lace knitting? Did you get that resolved?? I think it just means in the chart that they had to draw it so that there is no stitch right there. For the next stitch that is on your needle- you would follow the symbol on the chart right after the 'no stitch' notation. Not sure if that makes sense. Let me know.

Hi, Knitty Bee - I'm a fan of natural yarns, too. I've done a little bit of crochet and lace knitting, but not much - I have a lot to learn in those areas. I have a lot more patience than I have time to knit, so my finished projects are few and far between. I was a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom for 16 years and loved it. Now I'm a single working mom so time to knit, and money for new yarn, are sometimes hard to find. But I have a nice yarn stash so I'm content. I just watched my first granddaughter being born last Friday - she is so beautiful! I made a striped baby blanket for her (photos on my page). Hope you have as much fun on knitpicks as I do.

Welcome to KP- from one stay at home homeschooling mom to another!! :)
We have a lot in common: love of lace knitting and teaching our kids... Mine are 7 and 4, but having a lot of fun. The little one will do about 15 stitches a day so far. Just read a good idea yesterday to use their little samples as Barbie blankets or saddle blankets for their little horses. They liked that idea! Lace knitting is addicive... I have yet to make a shawl, but it is in my plans. If you need any help decipherin directions, just holler!

Knitty Bee

Hello

Hello, my mom taught me to knit and crochet when I was about 5 years old. I liked crochet better because to me it was easier and so for many years I crocheted, but I recently developed tendinitis in my wrist and had to give it up, I then went to tatting and I have enjoyed that very much. My only problem with tatting is that it is great for little appliques, jewelry, or doilies but other than that what do you do with it? I have always loved the look and feel of knitting and there are so many thin… Continue
