I'm married (32 years and counting). We have a son, named Tim, we adopted from Korea. He has a girlfriend named Meghan and her daughter is Tayler. We have a dog named Allie, we adopted from the Humane Society on Valentine's Day. I have been crocheting for so long I don't remember learning how and I have been knitting for about 32 years.

Week three of my personal knit a swatch a week challenge. This week is Papyrus lace. On page 25 of "Lace and eyelets 250 stitches to knit" edited by Erika Knight.
I've had several invites from people to add to my friends but for some reason I can't seem to respond. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. So I
'm not ignoring you I just can't figure this out.
I started my Knit a Lace Swatch a week challenge. I used Barbara Walker's 2nd treasury, a pattern called Roman Stripes. I cast on 30 stitches on #10 needles (my new short needles). This makes a very nice reversible fabric. I'm thinking about making a lace scarf with this and some pink lace weight or fingering yarn on big needles.

I got my shipment on Friday afternoon. I love the colors in this kit! I also got some Palette and some dk superwash. I'm a little intimidated by the Chinook shawl pattern. I am making Julia's Shawl from "Wrapped in comfort" by Alison Jeppson Hyde. It is rated beginner but I had to frog the whole thing and start over. I'm on track now and feel better about this. I've been knitting a long time but lace is relatively new to me. I made a lace book (thanks Maggie Righetti, Knitting in Plain English). Maybe if I finish this shawl successfully I will tackle the Chinook. I love the yarn that came with the kit. I was going to order most of the colors when I came acros the kit sale and ordered it instead. Like I said I'm a little intimidated by the Chinook. It is beautiful but I'm scared of it.

I am patiently waiting for my newest shipment to come. I ordered the coral Chinook shawl kit. I watched the video of Nina discussing her design process. I gotta say I'm loving this site so far. I loved watching (enviously) while the staff opened up the new yarns!

I just joined today. The picture I put up is not actually me. I'm usually under the hat.
