Finished swatch. I had trouble with the last few rows of the pattern. I may have said some very adult words.

I made a scarf with the Roman Stripes stitch and Pallette yarn. It turned out beautiful. I made it on 20 stitches and #10.5 needles.

I've had several invites from people to add to my friends but for some reason I can't seem to respond. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. So I
'm not ignoring you I just can't figure this out.

I started my Knit a Lace Swatch a week challenge. I used Barbara Walker's 2nd treasury, a pattern called Roman Stripes. I cast on 30 stitches on #10 needles (my new short needles). This makes a very nice reversible fabric. I'm thinking about making a lace scarf with this and some pink lace weight or fingering yarn on big needles.

I got my shipment on Friday afternoon. I love the colors in this kit! I also got some Palette and some dk superwash. I'm a little intimidated by the Chinook shawl pattern. I am making Julia's Shawl from "Wrapped in comfort" by Alison Jeppson Hyde. It is rated beginner but I had to frog the whole thing and start over. I'm on track now and feel better about this. I've been knitting a long time but lace is relatively new to me. I made a lace book (thanks Maggie Righetti, Knitting in Plain English). Maybe if I finish this shawl successfully I will tackle the Chinook. I love the yarn that came with the kit. I was going to order most of the colors when I came acros the kit sale and ordered it instead. Like I said I'm a little intimidated by the Chinook. It is beautiful but I'm scared of it.

I am patiently waiting for my newest shipment to come. I ordered the coral Chinook shawl kit. I watched the video of Nina discussing her design process. I gotta say I'm loving this site so far. I loved watching (enviously) while the staff opened up the new yarns!

I just joined today. The picture I put up is not actually me. I'm usually under the hat.
