First Post

I've had a page here for awhile, but have never posted much of anything. Time to break that spell. I've been working hard on Christmas gifts this week. I started knitting January, and fell in love with it so much I decided to make almost everyone on my Christmas list something different. Yea, so that was stressful enough for awhile. Then, I got engaged a week ago (yea!) and we are getting married in March, in another state. So not only do I get to plan for that, but I really wanted to knit something I could use in the wedding. Looking through ravelry (may I say how much I love that page) I decided to try lace for the first time and try to make my own veil. Yea, you can call me crazy. So I have ordered my materials for the feather and fan shawl, and am trying to take the remaining week of summer break knitting as much as possible on the Christmas gifts. I hope to have most of them done or at least a good portion completed this week. So far, so good. I'm going to load some of the pictures of the ones I'm working on below.

The pattern is in the "Men in Knits" book. It's called something like "Classic Camel Vest". It was pretty easy to make. Do you think it was too short? I'm afraid that it was a bit too small...

I see you are from Tennessee. I'm from Knoxville/Maryville myself! It's a beautiful state. I'm sorry I'm not there right now, with the leaves changing and everything so pretty.

Yes Anita, I have to admit to walking around the house in the socks instead of my slippers. I have also worn them in bed, but was looking forward to wearing them with some of my not so warm boots this winter.
The lace veil sounds intriguing. I hope we will be seeing a photo of it sometime.
Your dog looks very cheeky!!!! Barbara
