We Interrupt Our Regular Scheduled Blog Posting.......

This past Tuesday, my father in law was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer w/ mets to his ribs, chest wall and lymph nodes. All of the sudden, socks have taken the backburner and I'm frantically searching the internet for a man's chemo cap. He starts chemo this Friday, Nov. 13th and radiation on Monday, Nov. 16th. I am open to any pattern suggestions you may have and appreciate any and all prayers!

We were supposed to do take out chinese for thankgiving, which is my preference. Last year we went to an indain restaurant, YUM!

I cook turkey and chicken dinners all year long, i am big into cooking. So i dont really want it on some goofy 'special' day, LOL> OH well, i got outvoted, my brother's new lady friend is coming so my parents are doing a turkey dinner after all. It will be nice to see everyone at least! (but i do that every sunday too, LOL so what is the big deal???)

what about you?are you cooking or visiting or both?

I am so glad he is coping. pls tell him, for what it's worth, that a pathetic goofball in NYS is rooting for him, and shooting "arrow prayers" his way!!

my eyes are getting better and better every day. i know it will never be back to what it was, but good enough is good enough for me!! thanks!!

what are you working on now??

I think Loopville is after my time, though I remember seeing it the last time I was in town. I'm jealous of your sock class. I have yet to knit a single sock! Though I did make some monster dolls, and they said "make the back feet like you would a sock", so I guess I've *flirted* with sock making a bit. I hope you can find the time to take the class. Think of it as something for your soul!

Do not forget, the softer the yarn the better for the chemo hat. I've read a few articles on that some fabrics really bothers there head after they wear it for a while.
Just a thought.

Hello, sorry to hear about your Dad. I will look for a pattern for chemo cap. I hope you are doing well. I'm knitting once again after about 20 years. So a lot of things are new to me also. I do want to venture out and make me a toop or something. I live in Va. I have 8 grandchildren thus the name granny8. I have made things for them and have taught 2 of them to knit for themselves. I hope to keep it going on in the gerneration. I love to hear from other knitters, I think we all have something special. The knitting has really helped me doing my bout of depression I was in for a long time. It was one thing I had control over and loved doing and still do. Thanks for answering my call for help on the scarf. Write whenever you want to, address is urprecious2@msn.com Keep me posted about your Dad.

Hi Amy,

I WENT to Bearden High School (go Bulldogs - we were O-10 my senior year). I grew up in the Airplane neighborhood (where all the streets are named for small planes - Cessna, etc.). That's so cool that you live in the Bearden area as well. It's a nice place to grow up!
