Another Shawl

I finished my first prayer shawl a little while ago. I had a lot of Suri Dream left over so I made one for my MIL. She used to crochet a lot but recently had a stroke and will never be able to again. I hope this will keep her warm and wrap her in love!

I decided not… Continue

Happy Birthday to Me!!

i love celebrating my birthday. I'm always amazed at people who don't like to celebrate. It's a wonderful thing to be alive!!

My husband arranged the day so that I'd have knitting time but it looks like that may not happen. (Kids don't always follow the plan!) But what a sweetie for thinking of it!

Everyone have a fantastic day. It's a great day for all!

Suri Dream shawl

I really liked Kelley's Suri Dream shawl but didn't have access to that pattern. I found one online that was similar and made my first prayer shawl. I sent it off this weekend so I don't know the recipient's reaction yet. I loved knitting this one and I'm going to do a matching one for the recipient's daughter (enough yarn left over) and then one for myself to take to the movies!

Need Help with a Decision!!

I have several babies that will be coming into my life. Two are far away and I probably won't see them for many years but two are neighbors and coming soon! There is also an little adorable 9 month old in my life. Soooo, I want to make either the baby kimono from Mason Dixon Knitting or the EZ's Baby Surprise Jacket (I have Meg's DVD).

Any comments on which one to make?? I suppose I could do both and probably will. So the real question is which one first??

Thanks for your help!

Baby Blankets for the twins

I made it!! I finished the second baby blanket. I decided not to do a matching blanket but two different ones. I gifted them to her yesterday. She still hasn't given birth! I made it in time. Whew! I told her that my only requirement in giving these to her is that she HAD to use them. Hopefully she will. I feel like I should have made something for the older twins. Another time I guess.

that is a beautiful shawl . I really don't know much about knitting but is that a lacy stich pattern? How long did it take you to knit it and was it difficult for a beginner? thanks, ellie

Hi Alicia, I always make EZ's tom ten jacket for babies. After you make one you will realize that you can use this pattern for any size child or adult. It's a modular design so you only have to know the appx. chest size. For infants I make it with baby weight yarn and about a size 5 needle. You can find the pattern in "The Opinionated Knitter". It's also very very easy.

Thank you for the comment. My sister is an excessive fusser and I am always and forever telling her that no one is going to notice these things but her. I should take my own advice... and yours. Thanks again!!

Alicia, Thanks for adding me as a friend. If there is anything I can do to help... feel free to ask. I've only been knitting a few years, but I seem to know how to do a lot of things. Susan
