I so enjoy knitting shawls. It's the one 'garment' that fits just about anyone. I am going to buy this book sometime this week.

Has anyone chosen a pattern and yarn? I'd love to see who's making what choices -- not quite sure what to pick out of the book yet, probably something in a DK or sport weight (not the most patient of knitters).

So much yarn, so little time...

Hi, I have knitted plain shawls but have this book, got the yarn and am going to try the Bigfoot one. Working on guage today. Hope it is not too difficult. Actually got the yarn and book from the author at the Stitches East.

I have been thinking about knitting a lace shawl for a while. Although I have been knitting for many years, I have never knitted a lace project. I had just recently looked through this book and thought all the shawls were beautiful But I thought that if I were to knit any it would be either Karen's Water Turtles Shawl or Michelle's Shawl since they were rated on the easy side. What do you think of either of these for a first time lace knitter and what yarn should I use?
