Hello there... I'm Channon, and I've started the Bigfoot in a custom-dyed tweed. Don't mind me if I call my project "Fredfoot." Of course, it's on Harmony needles too.

Hi, I'm Judy. I've chosen Karen's Water Turtles shawl and I'm using
Knitpick's Shimmer in Turquoise Splendor. I'm only five rows in and it's my first circular shawl. I love Alison's book and it was hard to pick just one to start. I'm also just finishing up Arwen's Cardigan from Interweave. With the warm weather coming I'll be glad to get that off my lap!

Wow, I feel so honored that you're joining us Alison. I'm almost done with the yoke of the Julia shawl and I'm really enjoying it. I just want to knit that instead of doing work.

I hope authors are allowed to join! Current shawl in progress: the Michelle, in some 7/2 handpaint spun silk I bought at Stitches West. I started it Sunday and am on the third repeat in the main body.

Welcome Alice! I just downloaded the Swallowtail Shawl as well, It will probably be my next project. I'm learning a lot with the Big Foot shawl. I think I've come up with some good stitch markers for this project. I'll find out when I need to move them! You will LOVE the harmony needles. I've used them for socks, and the larger ones are on my wish list. They are sooooo smooth!

I just joined today but have not received my book yet. In the meantime I discovered the Swallowtail Shawl, one of the recent "5 Best" patterns and would love to do that one, but this knit-along is only for the patterns in the book. Otherwise, I would start now with this free Swallowtail pattern.
i have ordered the Harmony wood needles set and am waiting for those, too. I will love seeing photos of the other members work as you proceed.

Heybabs, I know what you mean. It feels great, but looks awful! I can't wait to finish so I can block it and see what it really looks like!

Does anyone else feel like they are knitting a large rats nest? When I spread it out, I can sort of see the pattern, but otherwise it just looks like a bunch of globbilygook! Also, any suggestions on going back when you realize you have an error, except for just unknitting. 300 something stiches is along was to go back and I usually can't see where the mistake is. Frustration!!

I continue on with my Big Foot shawl. Slow but steady, am on row 26 now. So many others in the book I would like to do. Although I need to stick with the easier ones.

I have made 2 shawls from here, and I can't wait to start the third! I love this book!
