It should be I'm taking the southern route so I'll go through Arizona, Panhandle of Texas, and lots of southern states were they do a lot of needle crafts.  Last time I did the trip the women in Arkansas where fantastic.  Can't wait to get to PA though since I'll be close to Amish country and there craft work is amazing.  All ready planing a trip to the Big Apple for yarn shopping with one of my granddaughters.  That should be fun.  Hopefully, by the summer I can start making small road trips to the different yarn companies on the east coast.  DD says I have to take a granddaughter when I go on these small road trips. ;  )

That sounds like a very fun trip... and Amish Country is always nice (we have some here locally in Ohio)... granddaughters on small road trips are a must... they really enjoy it!  Have fun and keep us posted!  ♥s

The Amish country is beautiful and interesting. Too bad they don't make their own style of quilts for sale anymore. All the quilts I saw, while beautiful, were "English" style.

Peggy, I though about stopping and taking a road trip down to Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, and Kentucky for quilters.  They still do Quilting Bee's in the Southern states and their quilts still make statements or have a traditional American theme.  Last GD is off to college in the fall and I will also have her room as a workroom so everything should be ok.  So long as I get on a plane once a year and travel somewhere with my DD.  ROFL not big on flying.

Phyllis, congrats on the retirement.  Sounds like you have some wonderful plans for the future.  I don't know if you're going thru the Phoenix area, but Scottsdale has a really great yarn shop.  Susan's DD could possibly get you the name of it.  Take it easy on your back, and enjoy your road trip.  It sounds like so much fun!

Thanks ladies, I'm hoping to have as much fun this time as I did the last.  Should finish packing on Sunday, rest on Monday and movers will be here on Tuesday.  Found the Knitting Guild of America about 20 minutes for the house so I will start there and my LYS knows that until I find a new show I'll just place my orders over the phone.  There finisher is the person that did the lining in my tote, (sewing machine is packed and didn't need the mess right before moving), so my tote is finished before leaving pics are below:

I won't finish the circular shawl that I'm working on before I leave but it will give me something to work on when I stop at night before I go to sleep.  Can't wait to get set up in PA so that I can get an actual knitting schedule in place.  Well time for my last pill and sleepy time for me.   Hope everyone is having a great time with their needles.  : )  : )

Phyllis, I did the same tote last year.. great job you did... hope this move is fun for you!

It looks like the Karin Tote, I think it was called. Is that the name, Susan? Did you see the new tote kit they just put out today? Love it!

Yes, Peggy, That was it... and yes, I saw ALL the new kits... some VERY nice.

My thoughts, exactly.

Wow, Phyllis, you really have been busy. It sounds like an exciting move. And what a wonderful trip you are making of it.

Glad you are doing okay. Sounds like you will need to stop frequently to give your back a rest. Be safe and check in when you can.

Yes! Let us know how it goes!
