Hi - I got lucky, sort of..... Not only did my copy of The Sweater Workshop come in, but my copy of Ann Budd's Getting started knitting socks and New Pathways for Sock knitters...... So much to read, so many patterns to try out, so much fun!!
I am just finishing my second Basic Crew Neck from The book. The first one turned into a turtle neck when the person it was for (our housemate - the one who likes to clean) asked for that change!! This one is for my step-daughte. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift last year, but I did it in pieces first.... Needless to say, I took it all apart, and started over!
Now, if I can get the underarm seams grafted, I will put it into the washer and dryer (treat is as you are afraid the person who is getting it will treat it.... sigh....).
Next is a dark green cotton for myself, another one I took apart..... Then I get off topic and work on a cable hoodie for my husband from one of the Debby Bliss books...sigh.......
So, when I can get a camera hooked up, I will try to send pictures!

Hi Sharon. Welcome, andI don't think you'll have trouble catching up. I'm still waiting for my book also. I'm hoping it's here this wee. I love feather and fan blankets for the kids. It's one of my favorite take along projects. CA is across the state from me.....it's rainy, cold, and just plain miserable here tonight. Good knitting weather, but I do wish we had some of your sun. I'll post again as soon as my book comes and I can read through it a bit. Debbi, NW Ohio

I've just joined the group. I am looking forward to learning how to knit a sweater with you all. I am new to knitting after 30 years. I recently made the Wallaby Sweater at my LYS with lots of help from the instructor. I am also working on a feather and fan blanket for my first grand child, a girl due any minute.

I have ordered the sweater book tonight and I hope I am not too late to catch up with all of you. I am looking forward to learning and sharing.

I've ordered the workshop book this morning and will set aside my socks in progress when it gets here. I'm looking forward to the conversations we'll having. This morning I listened to one of Kelly's podcasts while I knit. Much more fun than watching National News before work.

Laura - it is no more difficult to do a cardi than it is to do a pullover. You can plan for the opening and work back and forth or you can do it pullover style and then plan to cut. Cutting is not as horrible as it sounds. If fact - do it once and you'll wonder why you were every afraid!!

I have chosen to do the sweater sampler as it will sharpen my skills. I'm working on EZ's BSJ for my granddaughter and EZ's "blanket" in the Opinionated Knitter. It is garter stitch and in 4 pieces. I guess I better get the things done for the grandkids first.

Wee! I'm not yet quite done with my sweater sampler yet! I put it aside a while ago to work on other projects, but now I'm realizing that I have some kind of mental block when it comes to knitting sweaters. They must be the most difficult thing in the world, right? (silly grin) This group might give me the motivation I need to actually knit a darn sweater!

My cardigan is very easy to knit, no more difficult than the pullover. I started on the pullover first though. I bought the video, How to Knit a Sweater from the Neck Down by Nenah Galatti. You can order it here at Knitpicks. It's a great companion to The Sweater Workshop.

This is so much fun! I have the book checked out from the library. I am learning how to knit sweaters from the neck down, in one piece. I am currently working on two sweaters, a cardigan and a pullover.
