Permalink Reply by robdob 7 hours ago So here are the balls of my navajo plied spindle worsted weight yarn. I got a total of about 540 yds. Definitely not enough to make a sweater like intended, but maybe enough to make a shrug or vest. Looking for patterns now. Anyway it took about 2 months to spindle it and I was very excited to get it done that quickly and the plying satisfied me. The close up pic didn't really come out clear, but I think it shows the plying okay. This is my dyed with koolaid yarn and it's a sage green with rose spots throughout.

Love the spinning AND the colors... wonderful!
It's lovely! I really admire anyone who can Navajo-ply with a spindle...seems like a great magical trick to me :))
Love the color and it looks so soft and smooshy, smooshy being a technical term :D)
Permalink Reply by Dawn Railsback 2 hours ago Well done! I still haven't gotten the knack of navajo ply, but your looks great. Love the color too.

Permalink Reply by Peggy Stuart 33 minutes ago Think of Navajo-plying as single crochet, but using your hand instead of a crochet hook, and the stitches are very long. Oh, and you're using a wheel or a spindle the way you do for regular plying.
