I started some blue socks using Knit Picks Stroll hand painted in "Lullaby." It's a tonal yarn with shades of bright blue to almost purple. As you can see, it often gives you stripes. With my usual vivid imagination, I've decided to call them the Lullaby Socks.

The pattern is K2, P2 rib every other rnd, alternating with a rnd of straight K.

What's your current sock project?

They look so nice.  I think I will start a pair.  What is your pattern for your heel.  I do mine toe up two at a time.

I do mine that way as well but just started a pair and it is really starting out slow.  I hope I have started them correctly.  Can someone tell me how a KAL works?     Carol

Yes, I too would like to know how KAL works?

I don't see that anyone else has answered, so here goes:
A KAL is based on a topic. Maybe it's a specific pattern, but it can be something general, like socks, colorwork, Aran, toys, etc. You report on your project and comment on what other people have to say about theirs. Sometimes we get off topic, but you can participate as much as you choose. We LOVE photos of your project. We help each other, answer questions and make observations. We don't take attendance. We might miss you, though, if you aren't around for a while. That's all I can think of. Maybe someone else has something to add.

Very Nice i am working on a pair of socks for DH

Hugs Janice

Love the color.
I'm working on some red/white/blue socks for one of my bffs. I just mastered the short row heel and now want to make socks all the time! I found instructions on line that rocked! Lol can you tell I'm excited?!
I am working on Cookie A's Sunshine Socks. I planned on using the Sweet Tomato Heel from Cat's new eBook. Howsomever, the sock pattern calls for 2/3 of the stitches to be left for the top of the sock ( and in pattern) and 1/3 of the stitches be used for the heel.

The STH pattern calls for the reverse: 2/3 of the stitches for the heel.

Now how to solve that problem. I didn't realize I was creating a problem for myself.

Back to the drawing board for me.
Solution:
Abandon plan for STH. Stick with classic heels listed with Sunshine Socks pattern. Save my time and limited brain power for some lace socks I want to do.

Hi Marty...I got Cat Borhdi STH E Book..she also sent me a revised copy with new sock patterns...instructed to delete first edition....I admit I haven't used the STH yet but I will practice the technique and let you know..

I love Cat and her help on youtube...glad to get feedback on her new E Book..

Ooooh what lace socks are you doing...I did some a long time ago..I think Rippling Brook?

What is your opinion on my socks I posted?...they frustrated me...I am happy with the knitting ..just not the outcome of the yarn.

Hi, I thought your socks were well done. The colors didn't do what you wanted did they. That can be very disappointing.
Cat has been helpful and has some good YouTube videos on how to do the STH. However she didn't appear to understand my question about using her heels on a different sock. The problem is that her heels require 2/3rds of the stitches with the remaining 1/3 on the instep. The socks i am working on have nearer 1/3 of the stirches on the heel. I am not experienced enough with sox to easily fix this problem. I would rather use my time on my proposed lace socks. I too have her e-book and the latest update.
The lace socks pattern I hope to use is from Knitty Fall 2011, Lingerie socks.

What is crazy about the stroll yarn...is Peggy used same yarn with great results...!!! wish mine stripped more..Oh well hubby loves them..so it is a closed chapter lol..

I love Cat too..but in a nice way she is a bit ditzy..lol..but you gotta love her that way...I think sometimes she gets too busy to understand...

I checked out those lace socks Marty and they are BEAUTIFUL...definately on my do list now.

I think the second sock I made was lace...no one told me lace was hard or to not attempt so early in my sock knitting a few years ago..so I just did it and loved the pattern..

They are on my blog here..if you want to see...however hard to see the lacy pattern as picture is taken with socks laying flat.
