Wow, those are great! How did you knit them - toe up? top down? DPNs? Circular? (us beginning knitters are curious)

Thanks for sharing.
Hi, Buffy. The solid purple ones (made for my sister-in-law) were top-down, and the striped ones were done as toe-up. I knit two at at time using the magic loop method. I learned on aluminum DPNs, but prefer using one long circular.
Thanks. I have made 1 sock (and I mean *one*) using the Magic Loop, top down (Kelley's videos helped a lot). I am now finishing a pair, 2 at a time, toe up, magic loop. I don't like DPNs at all for circular knitting, so I'm glad I figured out the magic loop!
Buffy, that one-legged friend of yours is going to enjoy that sock so much!
Ha! Maybe I should make you knit the 2nd one for me, Peggy! I do have the yarn. :)
LOL!
Those are seriously good-looking socks!
Jill, they are great looking socks! I especially like the purple ones and I really admire people who can knit with dark yarn, especially sock yarn. I have recently learned how to do socks myself. Guess I'm still learning. On my second pair of two at a time toe up. Got there gradually using the Magic loop all the way. Congrats!!! ☺ E.
Recipe for knitting with dark sock yarn:
One very bright light over shoulder on nondominant side
One pair of magnifying eyeglasses or clipons. (I got mine at JoAnn's)
Oh yeah! I started those socks three times. I finally gave up on the lace pattern I originally started with and settled for the pattern you see here. I'll be using something much lighter in color for the next socks I make for someone - lol.
Jill, those turned out great. I was expecting just one pair for some reason and so I was surprised to open the second photo to see a completely different pair. Congratulations on a job well done.
Surprised me, too! It was good work, indeed...twice!
