okay ladies.... here's my progress on my 4th sock from the book - Sunshine!!!!
I've got one down and the ribbing started on the second. I'm using Knit Picks Imagination sock yarn in Munchkin. Size 2's on magic loop.
This colorway totally reminds me of salsa...you bring the chips and I'll serve the margarita's.... blended or on the rocks??? ;)
Question time ladies, I want to make a pair of Sunshine but would like to extend the top ribbing to three or four inches. Would I need to extend the leg of the sock to avoid the sock looking unbalanced? Any and all comments would be appreciated. Plan to ware the sock with the top folded in half.
If the top is folded in half I don't think longer ribbing will make much of a difference. I always do my ribbing longer than the pattern states without any visual issues. I figure if someone notices and they don't like it, then that is there problem. As my mother says if they are looking that close anyways kick them. I have never had to kick anyone thus far. This is a great pattern. I made two pairs. One was given away and the other is still a bit big, but that is the nature of Cookie A patterns. I have to modify most her patterns now that I know her socks run big on my teeny, tiny feet. Someone needs to write a book for smaller feet.
Thanks Angelkarthu, your right about that book, I have a granddaughter that wears a size 4 - 4 1/2 shoe and none of the patterns are written for her. Always have to modify the patterns for her.
