A few 'action' shots of Mr. F. (sans tail) Apparently being nekked doesn't bother this cheeky monkey as he seems to be a bit of an exhibitionist. No worries, his tail is just about done and soon after I will cast on for his adorable long johns! Mr. Foster is waiting patiently for the UPS truck to deliver another KP package. (aren't we all!)

I love him! What did you use to make him poseable?
Thanks Tina!
I used floral wire & waterproof tape. I posted pics in the 'Monkey Suit' post and it's also HERE on Ravelry. He is currently being put to the test of bendiness, by my son & all the neighborhood kids. So far, so good!

What a good idea to use florist wire and tape! Did you form a "skeleton" or just insert it after stuffing Mr.F? He looks like he's looking for a "Mrs." out the window-I haven't recieved my pkg yet-getting more excited all the time-Crazy for a 50++ woman-but who cares! Jennifer
Thanks Jennifer!
Another knitter on the KP boards, Bekah & her hubby suggested this as a better alternative to my original idea of pipe cleaners. It worked out really well. If you are on Ravelry you can see photos HERE or you can see the process in the 'Monkey suit' post here on the Mr. Foster KAL (just scroll down a bit & you will see the pics)
Mr. Foster is a pretty popular fella these days. I can't wait to get started on his clothes!
Hope your delivery comes soon. ~Susan
Wow, he looks great!! I'm really considering trying to make mine poseable. Did you need to use those plastic beads to weight his bottom? Thank you for posting those beautiful pics of the process. It gives me a lot to ponder as I knit. I know what you mean about waiting for the big brown truck, my kids see it pull up and they say "UPS, Mom ordered again". KP has so much wonderful stuff and I have a serious yarn addiction.

Happy knitting and keep posting those great pictures.

Jude: My mailman brings my KP stuff! Love that guy! --Peggy
Thanks Jude!

I love that your kids are so 'whatever' about it....mine still hopes it's something for him (he's a slow learner) UPS = yarn. simple math in my book.
Anyway, I didn't use beads and he sits up just fine. The wire is enough to pose him without needing any extra weight in his bum! :)

Hah!
Those 6-pack abs are really something, right?

You've done a wonderful job! I can't wait to receive my kit and get started. Your Mr Foster is so inspiring!
He is so cute!! I am working on the first arm. Another idea may be to just sew straight across the leg (at the hip and at the knee) to make the legs bendable. Also you could do that at the shoulder and the elbow. I know this won't make it stiff but when you fill the behind with beans, maybe the legs would bend some. I have done this on some dolls I made years ago when my daughter was little. (Just another idea).
Thanks Else & Knitpickers!!!

This is such a great pattern. Kerin did a wonderful job on creating this little guy. You will put all your sock knitting skills to work and maybe even learn some new techniques!

I know exactly what you are talking about w/seaming the limbs to bend. That's a great idea and I'm sure it would work perfectly!
Thanks again,
~Susan
