WooHoo! I LOVE to knit with silk/mohair yarns. So far I've had to search them out elsewhere. NO MORE! KP is now carrying a new yarn, Aloft! This definitely goes to the top of my wish list!
How many of you like to knit with this kind yarn?
What will you make with KP's newest yummy fiber sensation?

Wow! I'm really eager to get some of this and try it. My birthday is next month. Think I'll ask for some of it to make a scarf. Now......What color!

Permalink Reply by Jenny on February 22, 2011 at 1:42pm I just wanted to give everyone the heads up that the Aloft features a blend of super kid mohair and silk, it really is nice and soft :) There was just a bit of confusion when the Aloft first launched since the description only said 75% mohair 24% silk.
If anyone has used Kidsilk Haze before, it is pretty much identical to that softness wise. I just finished up a few scarves for family members out of KSH and comparing it to Aloft, I am not sure I would be able to tell the difference! Make sure to post pictures for those of you out there getting any Aloft, I can't wait to see the wonderful things you guys will knit up :)
Permalink Reply by Nutty4Knitting on February 22, 2011 at 2:32pm Oh,Thank You Jenny!! I checked and rechecked the description for Aloft because I know most of the mohair/silk blends use kid mohair. (Kid Seta is one of my faves.) When I didn't see it listed that way, I started to wonder. Especially since Debra was asking about softness. Now I'm DEFINITELY putting it at the top of my list!! Maybe I'll buy it for myself for my birthday!! =))))
Debra, I can now confidently tell you that this yarn is no where near scratchy like some of those other mohair yarns!! =)

Permalink Reply by Nutty4Knitting on February 22, 2011 at 3:54pm Okay!! I've decided!!
I have four balls of the Cranberry Aloft in my cart. I'm going to make the Balloon Shawl which I found on Ravelry. I went on a search for a pattern specifically for this yarn. Now I just have to have the $$ for the yarn. I really am going to ask for this for my birthday. Hopefully the yarn will arrive and I'll be able to have it knit up by the time we take our long trip to WI in August. Then I will have it to wear for the cool evenings, maybe even at the wedding we will be attending. Hmmm.....that puts my lace shawl knitting up to 5, or is it 6? for the year!!!! Better get busy!
