I received the Fall Season Shawl kit (40958) and started winding the yarn into balls. The instructions say to use two strands of the color.
How do I wind the yarn (without a ball winder) to be able to knit two strands together?
Permalink Reply by lynsey neilson on October 6, 2011 at 3:04pm I recently started this shawl. I streched the yarn between 2 dining chairs and wound it by hand into one large ball then wound a smaller ball off the bigger ball. I found this was faster than winding 2 smaller ones to begin with. I forgot to say to check the errata for this shawl as there are a few mistakes in the pattern.

Permalink Reply by Mary Brinton on October 6, 2011 at 9:04pm Can't you just use 2 balls at the same time? I see people put them into ziplock bags to keep them under control. I usually just let them run wild on the floor and untangle them periodically:-)
