there are 20 great patterns in this book... which one is calling to you? I'm planning to do the "Cabled Vest". It's classy, there are no sleeves (I like no sleeves) and it's knit in DK weight yarn, which is perfect!
OK gals. The chicken sounds great. but I'm back to the knitting. At one time I thought that I would try the cabled vest, but after reading the pattern over and over again I realized it was too much for me to bite off. Now I am making the short swing jacket out of the city tweed. It is much simpler and I wanted to use that lusious yarn. Just have the back done and had to put it aside to make an afghan for a wedding gift. As soon as that is completed it will be back to the jacket for me.
I have been fortunate enough to find local knitters at our senior center. They are very encouraging and helpful. I have been knitting for 35years, but sadly was never confident enough to undertake projects that stretched my abilities. Now at the tender age of 70 I am ready to learn to do socks..The jacket comes first, however.
Evelyn,
Did you see Kelley's blog post abut the sock knitting videos she is doing? You might look at it... it might help you when you are ready for socks. When I learned to knit (4 years ago), I didn't realize that socks were hard... so within a few months I was knitting socks... really! --Susan
