no pictures this week, because it looks pretty much the same as last week... I took a long weekend and went up to Seattle to see my mom... brought my knitting and got some of it done and then realized my count was off... so I ripped, and ripped, and then ripped some more... so depressing! by the time I left, I might have been 4 rows ahead... This is one of those patterns that I can't sit and talk while knitting... Every other Wednesday the Knit Picks team meets... all are knitting but me, I don't dare!!! My goal is to get a chunk done this weekend (and no ripping!!!!)!
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll need a vacation to recover from getting ready to go on vacation!!! I'm going to be in Europe for the month, so I need to make sure I have everything I need... yikes!!! As to knitting... I leave Portland OR at noon and don't arrive in Vienna until noon the next day... granted there's a 9 hour time time, but still plenty of knitting time will be available!!!
I ended up not having the garage sale last weekend, and it's questionable about this weekend... see I have so much "stuff" in my garage that I really am having a "drive-way" sale... and the weather just hasn't been cooperating for me!!! maybe the 19th... (I love to procrastinate too!!!)

my progress isn't so good... my granddaughter's 5th birthday is the end of this month, so I've deviated a little to knit her a bear... hopefully I'll be done soon and can get back to MY project!!! the procrastinated garage sale is happening this weekend (rain or shine I've decided) so maybe I can get more done... of course I'm hoping to be slammed and sell all my junk... but it's good to have a back up plan!!!!
Here is the start of my Seed Stitch Jacket. I really like the fabric. Sorry about including the photo as an attachment. Every time I tried to use the camera icon to add the photo to this text, I got a string of some kind of code instead.
It looks like you've gotten a good start on your sweater. It's a beautiful color. I bet the finished project will be gorgeous! Do you like working the seedstitch? I've always liked the look and feel of that in any pattern, but it seems me to take SO LONG to do--all that throwing! 8-) There's some of it on the edges of the textured tunic I'm working on. It makes a nice finish.

I think that string of code is the system telling itself where it has stored the picture. It is ok. Click on post and it should show up... I did that recently and thought- well, if it didn't work, I could always edit or delete the post. But it did work. So try it again next time... -Peggy
p.s. That seed stitch looks amazing!! I hate seed stitch! Seems like it takes me forever to do it! I even knit continental, so it should be easier, but it isn't for me. Maybe it's mental. Or maybe I just hate to purl. :)
Kim, I have started the short version of the swing jacket using that wonderful City Tweed. Since it is garter stitch and very little shaping in the back it has been perfect to take along and knit whilke visiting. I have the CotLin for doing up the cabled vest next.

Hi all... this is the long lost Kim... I've been thinking about you all... I've been on a very long vacation over in Europe... thought I would drop in and say hi... I have to say, though I brought my knitting with me, I've been very bad... the first two weeks I was in Slovakia on a mission trip... there didn't seem to be much free time... then I flew to Italy and drove around the country for 12 days... if I wasn't sight seeing, then I was eating and sleeping... I'm coming back next week and if jet lag doesn't kill me - I'll get back to knitting... hope you are well... --Kim
Okay, just have to say I'm so jealous! Sounds like you've been having a wonderful time, and I'm so glad you are. Even knitters are allowed to put their needles down for some super sight seeing. See you when you get back, and happy travels!
