Here is my first hat! Unfortunately, I don't have any pink. I do have some blue, but had something in mind for it. I might make a couple of blue hats, though. Surely not everyone wants pink and blue, right?

Hey, is anyone out there? It's so much more fun when we "talk" while we knit! I have about 7 hats done. Does anyone have more?

It's interesting that people aren't posting a lot for this knit along. Maybe typing gets in the way of knitting? I wonder how many hats will be done on Monday!

Hmmmm, for some reason my earlier reply did not get posted. I'm on about hat 6. Like you, Ruth, as soon as I heard it was Preemie hats, I went through my stash looking for as many colors of cotton I could find. I wish they had said any washable worsted weight yarns because then I would have tons of colors!

I am so far behind you all. Then again I am just along for the ride. Think of me as the back seat passenger who keeps looking out the window at the scenery. I cast on for hat #1 a little while ago. I was too tired at my friday dialysis treatment to work on it, then I had to go to my nieces ballet, which was awsome. She's 7 and was too cute. I had a hard time picking her out on stage though. Then we went out for dinner and when we got home I was again too tired. I feel a sinus infection coming on so that zapped all the energy right out of me. So finally after searching for a different needle since my one 7 circ is too long and too short for ML, I had to hunt down my dpns, which I absolutely detest. So my goal is just to finish one hat. I am using Shine Worsted in Coral, The remaining balls that I have will be put to something else and Lord knows I will find many a things to use it for.

I thought you can use any washable worsted weight yarn. It said if you weren't using KP yarn to check the craft guidelines for acceptable yarn. So I clicked on the yarn suggestion list. I didn't have any cotton blends in my stash, and lily and cream is just not soft enough to me for hats. Turns out I did have a bunch of Simply Soft in fun colors so I decided to use that. I went back and fourth in it in my brain if it would be good enough, it is soft and since it is on their list. I'm knitting it. I'm sure they wouldn't list it if it wasn't OK right?

Funny isn't? I wasn't even going to enter this contest, but who can resist baby hats for a good cause. I was only able to start knitting after work yesterday and have been able to knit today after work. So far it looks like I have 10-11. I can't wait to see how many hats are knit. Are you weaving in ends as you go or are you planning on weaving in ends after your done?

I have one finished and another started will have it finished soon. Sorry I did not get more but I had a good time with my Dad drove to Charleston,WV and help celebrate my Dad's 87th Birthday, maybe the next speed knitting I will be able to spend more time on it. But had fun guessing and reading everyones messages. Well mail the hats to the address given Sharon

I'm back from a day out and glad to see all the responses here! I've been to a park, a ship that is now a restaurant, and another restaurant. Along the way, walking and sitting, and on the subway, I knitted hats. It's a lot slower, of course, but I felt like I was still progressing. I've done orange and green hats, and now I'm moving on to yellow. I have 3 or 4 balls of a lot of bright colors of Cotton Ease which I am thrilled to be using up for a good cause. Now back to the knitting!
