I'm going to start knitting my first mobius basket next week.  Then I'm going to felt it.  I've never done either of these things before, so I have a few questions.  I don't have a washing machine other than the one in the laundryroom at our apartment complex.  I watched the video.  Do I use soap?  Dish soap?  Laundry detergent?  Shampoo?  How hot should the water be?  Do I need to put it in cold water afterwards?  How long does it take?  Should I use the dryer or let it air dry?  My yarn is coming from Knit Picks and it's supposed to be great for felting.  Thanks!

Cathy,
For my felted projects, I use a little bit of laundry soap, set the washer to a small load, put a pair of jeans in the washer to cause extra agitation, and check frequently. When it is the size you want, stop. Always air dry. ♥s
Cathy, I agree with Susan. If you don't have a pair of jeans you're willing to wash with it, you can throw in a few tennis balls. I like to put my project into a pillowcase and close it. I have one with a zipper, but you can just close a regular pillowcase with safety pins. It keeps the lint all in one place. I did a Moebius basket last summer. It was fun! -P
Cathy, placing in a zippered pillowcase is a MUST if you are doing it in a commercial machine. I felted a mohair shawl recently and couldn't find my pillowcase. Boy, did I regret that! I had to do major drain surgery to get the fiber to unclog!
What is a mobius basket? I've seen mobius scarves, but not baskets. Where do you get the pattern? ♥j
Jo, the one I did was a pattern from Cat Bordhi. It was really interesting.
Do you remember where you found it? I'd like to try one.
The ones I did were in A Second Treasury of Magical Knitting. I did the Felted Moebius Basket and the Moebius Fanny Basket.
Thanks. I'll check them out.
Here's mine.

I got mine from the same book. I made it shorter, though.
That is really pretty... of course, I think I've made that comment in one of your blogs back when you did the Moebius Class last year. ♥s
DH puts his keys and glasses in it when he comes home!
Here are mine:

This one is great. I think this pair of socks for DH has been stored here for quite awhile.

But this is my favorite. I have it on the side of my MIL's hospital bed so she has a place for TV her remote and her phone. It has 2 sides to it.
