Will there be a new, suggested project for the CAL for this Fall?  Linda

maybe a sweater for Christmas?
Small gift items would be great for this time of year.
I've never done a sweater before, but right now, cannot invest in supplies to make a large project for myself since I lost my job in July and no job prospect on the horizon.

I agree with Jane, small items would make great gifts. Could we do a project for both men and women or a unisex project?
What about a small sweater- like a baby sweater? You learn all of the skills but don't have to invest as much time or money?

There always babies in need of a sweater: yours, someone in your family or friends' circle or charity.

Hats are always fun and can be any size for guys/gals/kids, great gifts and often don't require investment in new yarn if you get creative with stripes and/or stitch patterns!

Crochet socks anyone? or Slippers?

If you want to tackle something that's a bit more challenging let me know-I am happy to host CALs!
A baby sweater would be ok, I had to think about that for a while since my son and his wife aren't ready to have a family. But I do have a friend who is going to have a baby.

Socks might be fun. Only I have fat feet. Can you help make them for wider feet, and fat ankles? Being overweight is the pits.
I have wide size 9's! I like to make my crochet socks toe-up with an elastic yarn like Risata.

It makes crochet socks much easier to fit. They are super comfy and I can work an after-thought heel without worry of having the too-tight chain across my instep. My other trick is to use a foundation chain at the heel instead of a plain chain for more stretch.
That sounds interesting. Worth a try, I think. I'd love to learn to do socks in crochet. I just looked it up. The colors are nice.
Crochet Socks sound fun! What supplies would one need?
