ok so i want to learn how to do a granny square, just a simple one. was on youtube following a video, for a solid GS. but the thing is that it starts out great and then somewhere in the middle of it all it ends up sucky..( are they going to fast in the video am i doing something wrong) i got so frustrated that i gave up! lol for now.
i am waiting on a book that i ordered chicks with stick crochet. im starting to think that some things for me are better when i learn from a book. thats how i learned basic crochet(that is until my hubby accidently threw out the instruction guide))
any advice for the future?
ses my plans were to make a ton of them and then turn them into a blanket for my bed.. my mom did this and she has this amazing blanket that she has had for years and years. we call it the flag blanket because some of the squares and the colors make you think of countries. ireland, poland engand etc..
Wish me luck!!!
Melinda, I suspect what you are not doing is making sure you crochet the correct number of double crochets and chain stitches to make the corners. That seems to be the most common mistake.
im thinking that this is what is going on.. its when i do the first round that it gets kinda weird on me.
If you have a yarn store near you or a knitting group that meets close by, you can go to them and get help. I teach granny squares to my beginning students and they always find it a challenge. If you can get help in person, that's the best way to learn.
Did you ever figure this out?
