Hi knitters! I designed the Little Bubbles Set as one of my first projects here at Knit Picks, and I am so excited that you're finally able to see it! Let's use this thread as a place to share our projects, get information, ask questions, and share our finished knits!
I'll start by showing you a little movie of , ahem, me, discussing the design process.
Nina you're a natural! I don't think I've seen a "civilian" say "Um," so infrequently on camera! Good job, and such a cute set. I love you color combos you chose.
I actually used to be a teacher. My first year, I had very little training, so I became a pretty good public speaker, VERY quickly. This was a lot less scary!
Impossibly cute!
Ordered the neutral kit & additional comfy colors in pinks to mix & match for our god-daughters twins. She has a little boy & a little girl. I can't wait to get started.
Fantastic design Nina - it's adorable!!!

You're so sweet Susan! I hope you enjoy making it!
I started this thread before I had code for the video, so maybe reloading the page would help? If you still can't see it, I'll see if i can get someone aroundhere who's tech savvy to check into it :)
I love seeing the process of what goes into a design...it's so interesting.
Knitting these cute little cardi's is going to be super fun-
Great job on the design & the video!

I am knitting the Little Bubbles Baby set in blue for the upcoming arrival of my son. When I looked over the pattern I almost fainted when I realized the needle requirement was a size 2 and after swatching and hoping to be a "tight" knitter I found out that a size 2 is the needle I will need to use, however, after swatching I wasn't so scared because Comfy is just so soft and silky to work with the needle size didn't even make my hands hurt.
Anyway, I started the yoke last night and was happily moving along when I got to the part of the yoke that makes the "bubbles." Nina had briefly described to me what I would need to do at this part and I thought it sounded pretty easy and have an overabundant amount of confidence in my survival skills as a knitter, so I started reading the instructions for Row 6 of the "Little Bubbles" section and with the many different ways that I tried to make my needles do what the words said it never looked like the swatch that had been lent to me for a visual aide. So I came in this morning, knitting in hand and Nina and I made a video of the process. It is very easy once you "get" the idea. Hope this helps if you need it, it really helped me.
Thanks so much for the bubble stitch video. My needles couldn't follow the instructions I was reading either! I'm starting with the blue colorway and then will do the pink one for my twin nephew and niece who were born in March. I'm aiming for Christmas 2009, so am doing the largest size.
I stumbled across this AFTER I had just sent an email to Knitpicks about this very issue. Thanks so much!
Now to decide whether to frog the first two bubble rows or just keep on going. Probably will frog the whole thing and start over.Sigh.
This little video saved my life -- I am a fairly experience knitter but have never really gotten the hand of "dropping stitches" to a row below so I have always avoided this concept. I am now 1/2 way through with this pattern in the smallest size and hope to have two finished by September for my upcoming twin granddaughters! I'll try to add pix later . . .
I'm so glad the video helped Cathie. Imagine all the wonderful textured patterns you're going to be able to work up now! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say too that we're looking forward tot he pictures!
I LOVE this! Payday is tomorrow, and the order will be put in then. :) BTW Nina, did you make the sweater you are wearing in the video? It is gorgeous! What pattern is it?
