Hi Kathy! I'm glad you're enjoying the bag so far! Sounds like you're making great progress. :)

I got my kit yesterday, I promptly torn open the bag and started reading the directions while my 1-year-old piled up the yarn and sat in it. *ahem* anyway, I'm intimidated! I can't wait to see some WIP pics posted on here and ravelry.
Don't get intimidated. Take it one step at a time.
I CO last night after the kids finally went to sleep, it took me an hour to CO and knit the first row, not even on the chart yet. Hopefully I can spend more time on it tonight, this afternoon isn't looking good since I gotta do the mommyin' and the dumb laundry (ugh), and it's Friday so it's movie night here, I don't think I can do this in the dark by "feel" lol.
I don't think this is a good movie night project.
Casting on takes forever... sorry! At least it's all downhill from there, right? :)

If I believe that one, I'm sure you could sell me some nice fertile land out in West Texas, right?
I just started row 5 of the band insertion chart with the lipstick colorway. I'm surprised at how quickly (well, quickly for me anyway, haha) this project is going. The short rows aren't very difficult and I think I am doing the wraps correctly because there are no holes (always a good sign, right?)
I got as far as the second row of the lip stick color then noticed things were not lining up as they should be. So I took the whole thing off the needles and through it away but I plan to cast on all over again this weekend. I decided to not make mine larger like I did the first time. I need to concentrate on this pattern..NO tv when I do this one.
Oh no! I'm sorry. You couldn't have just frogged back to the start of the short rows? What a shame to do all that work and scrap it. But, as Cheryl keeps reminding us, it is practice, which only makes perfect, right?

Well I had all ready ripped it back to that point once before...so this next time I said to myself "it's not worth all that work". It isn't the first time I've thrown knitting away. I really enjoy the "process" of knitting even more than finished objects.
The process is a wonderful part of knitting. It is the part that is so relaxing.
