Is there anyway you can knit this sweater without the steeking part??? Could you just knit it back and forth instead of all around???

I ended up with a pumpkin! I could explain this to everyone but I think I better not!

I am ready .to Steek!!! Not too worried about the process but unsure about a couple of things. The front opening has a self facing, one that turns back on itself (I will be doing a picot edge instead of the purl turn). Is there anyneed to put a grosgrain ribbon on this edge? It was mentioned. I have only used a grosgrain on a single band for reinforcing.
Does the pattern call for a closer (button)? What has been the general idea hear? It doesn't look like there is anything on the picture in the pattern.

Suz: No need for grosgrain ribbon unless you want to use it. The "raw" or cut edge of the front will be enclosed in the band down the front. Some people have added buttons or other closures, but most people just leave it open. I've used mine a lot, and I don't find need to close it up. It's really warm! --P

Peggy, Your sweater is gorgeous! You have done a fabulous job and what a lot of colors to have to work with. Good job, Robin

Robin: Thanks! Let's see how nice it looks when it's done, though! I have two weeks until surgery. (But who's keeping track!) --P
