Personally, I would like to see needles on both ends of the spectrum. I'm very hard on needles. I tend to hold them very tightly. In the smaller sizes, if they're wooden I break them. If metal, I bend them. I am really hoping for smaller and larger sizes at least in the Zephyrs. Maybe I won't be able to break the smaller sizes.

I believe the reason why the Zephyrs are not made smaller than size 4 is increased breakage. At least I believe that is what was said on the podcast about them.

I just received my set of Zephyr Interchangeable Needles. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. I was struggling with another brand of circs and immediately switched the project to the Zephyr needles. I'm flying again. Just want some 16" fixed in the Zephyrs. Keep up the good work - I can't say enough good about your needles!

I had a chance to test out the Zephyrs. And once again, KP has managed to produce another fantastic needle. Here is my PERSONAL experience with using them with different yarns. They are excellent for lace knitting and any yarn that tends to be a bit slippery, but the more coarse wool seemed to slow me down a bit. I did wash the needle tip with some soap and water and there seemed to be a bit more ease then and found them no more "tacky" than bamboo needles. Overall this is not a big deal for me, because I have almost two of every Harmony and Option needle tips so if one type is not working for me then I just simply switch the tip and knit on!
My best test with them was with some bamboo silk yarn in a lace weight. The tips were perfect, enough grip that stitches were not flying off my needle, and points that caught every stitch on the first try. The Zephyr tips have become one of my new needles for lace knitting, rivaling very closely to the Harmonies.
All in all...GREAT JOB KP.

Ed, I haven't had the chance to experiment as much with the Zephyrs as you, but I think I agree with your analysis. It really is nice having the different tips so that if one kind isn't working on the yarn you are using, you can just switch the tips out.

i received my order with the zephyr needles in it and decided to take a few minutes and try them
i really like them as others have commented it is much easier to see your stitches when you are using darker wool
they are also much smoother than my old steel or aluminum ones (not sure which they are) and i was using acrylic yarn
i am sold!!!!!! Now i have to buy the whole set

I have to say that I am just learning to knit and have tried all 3 lines of needles from Knit Picks, and I have to say I love the new Zephyr needles. For a beginner it is nice to be able to see if I accidentally stick the needle through the yarn strands before I finish with the stitch which will save me a huge headache trying to fix it later. I find it a little more difficult with the wood needles for this issue but I also love the Harmony needles to for a beginner as my stitches do not slide off the needle as easily as the nickel plated do. So maybe this can be a Christmas wish list item to get more of the needles in the Zephyr interchangeable set.

I've only been knitting for about a year and I've only purchased Clover bamboo needles because of their affordability and I really like the warmth of the wood in my hands as opposed to the awful aluminum crochet needles I learned on as a child. But I had read repeatedly on ravelry how much people liked the knitpicks needles so I decided to "treat" myself and get a set to use on my first sweater. I got the Zephyr tips (again with the affordability) and I am completely thrilled with them! I've never been so comfortable while knitting and I've never knitted as fast. I will be asking for the complete set for x-mas! I have also recent discovered that knitting on circular vs. straights is much more enjoyable for me regardless of what I am working on. They are just so comfortable and those flexible Knitpicks cables are amazing after working with the stiff plastic ones on the Clovers. I am very quickly becoming a huge fan of Knitpicks in general! Quality and affordability, what more could a knitter ask for??? :-)

I know that these needls are new. But, I love this needles to death. I was wondering if there in any thought of making theses needs in all the different forms:
Staright
Double Pointed
I sure hope so. I think that these needles are great. I bought the Set with the Cables but, I would still love to have them in the Straight & Cable Needles. The look is just great & they do work well.
I have seen beautiful Glass Needles but find them unrealistic to work with( More afraid of breaking or craking them & getting cut) I think those are more for look that actual work. But, I would sign right up & purchase the Zephry needles if or when they do come out with Cable Needls, Straight, & Or DPN.

Yes, Yes, YES, please make Zephyr lace and DPN versions. I couldn't work with alpaca yarn in anything lighter than DK weight until I got my Zephyr needles. I've knit a tam for my daughter (with Imagination sock yarn), and the alpaca behaved itself beautifully on the Zephyrs. I've test knit with some alpaca lace, as well, and it's lovely lovely lovely on the Zephyrs. I own quite a bit of alpaca yarn (laceweight, especially . . . even though I couldn't knit it! lol), and I'm really excited to be able to knit it up and actually *enjoy* the process.

Is there any way you can put up a poll for Zephyr DPN's and lace sizes? If not, just put me down for a full set of each when they come out . . .

(For that matter, I'd also like to see a poll to vote for "Petite" versions of all the needle tips, so the interchangeables could use a 16" cable. The longer tips for the interchangeable sets make my hands tire more quickly, as they force me to use a much less efficient knitting style. (More wrist and arm movement than is required with the 16" KP nickel circulars I have. So, to update, Zephyr DPN's & lace, and petite length interchangeable tips. :o)

I have use a set of Denise Interchangeable Needles for a couple of years. I decided that they were not working for me anymore because of the rough connection and the cables were not flexible enough for the Magic Loop Technique. So, do you think the Zephyr Needles will work well for me? Thank you for your input.
