What I did, and it seems to be functional, is put the 16 stitches from the back of the hand on a needle (threading it through in a way that seemed to make sense.) I then CO 2 on another DPN knitted those 20 stitches, and then CO as the pattern mentions.

Hope this helps.

This is my first post here, not sure I have figured out how to use this forum. BUT, I am working on the Cabled Yoke Coat and have reached the under arm gusset. The directions for the gusset itself are clear but I am confused as to the placement of the gusset. Is it supposed to be over the second cable, or next to it. Does the cable stop? \

I ended up with some extra stitches in my sections (must have miscounted the increases) and decided that the extra ease was a good thing but now, can't figure the placement of the gusset.

HELP??????

Cabled Yoke Coat

Re counting my stitches reveals that I am 2 stitches short. Going to the increase section (second paragraph page 2) following increases for size 56 and increasing 4 more times results in 272 stitches not 278 as the pattern indicates.

I have added this up over and over and keep coming up with 272 stitches not 278 as the pattern reads which would make me 4 stitches OVER.

I am so confused!!!!!!!!

I am looking for a book that will help me make myown short sleeved tops. Because I live in northern California I dont need a lot of long sleeved sweaters but i would like to make cool summer tops. is there a book that can help with techniques? I

Our latest office favorite is "French Girl Knits" - it has a bunch of lacy summer tops, some multi-season short sleeved sweaters, and a number of lacy, dressy sweaters that have less bulk.

If you're looking for a more basic sweater design book, one of Kelley's favorites is Sweater Design in Plain English. It has a lot of basic information for planning out a sweater to your exact measurements. Another book to look at is Simple Style - it has some beautiful patterns with clean lines, and some of them could easily be converted to shorter sleeves.

I regret saying this, but I don't find the photograph for the Arrows socks to be a very good representation--I can't see the front or the back or any details that may be there. And the perspective is kind of awkward. Perhaps Knit Picks could get a few better photographs?

Thanks for the feedback - we've let the folks in the Photography Department know!

I have been waiting for over a month for Knit Picks pattern team to respond to a very simple questions about a pattern, so I don't think contacting them with a problem is such a good solution!!

Your knitting question about the Cabled Yoke Coat was forwarded on 2/23 to the designer for a response. If you need faster assistance, please contact Knit Picks Customer Service at 1.800.574.1323. Thanks!

I called Customer Service and was told to email. It's is now 3/30 and I have not received a response. I went ahead and did what I thought might be correct, although I doubt it was. I have only been able to find one other person who got to this point in the pattern and they were confused as well.
