I have been trying to knit your vine lace headscraf (50598). The problem is that it does not knit up like it looks on the model. On the model it shows a border. When you go by the printed pattern it does not have the border . It looks the way it does if you go and search headscarf on the knitpicks website. I have called three times about this and no one seems to be able to help me. I spoke with Kathy today and she was very nice but said that it may take 2 days to get back with me. Why would it take so long. I was hoping to make this for my mother in law. Can you please help me?
I really enjoy your catalogs and appreciate the thought and effort that goes into having a theme for each one, especially the instructional sections. It is always fun to flip through and see patterns made up. I have one suggestion. I would really like to see skill level listed with the pattern information, particularly if I do not have the book (yet) and cannot look at the instructions and determine difficultly level for myself. It may not be possible for patterns from the books that do not list skill level required, but it could be something you could report for your own exclusive designs and for patterns from books that do include that information.
I bought the Renaissance Sampler and have a question about the pattern for the Cathedral Purse. It starts with casting on 5 stitches, but the Increase chart indicates knitting only 1 stitch in the first row. What do you do with the other four? Thanks very much.
Sorry about the typo. It was knit using a size 4 needle - adjust your needle size as necessary for gauge. Crayon especially has a tendency to widen once knit. We'll put up errata for this one - thanks!
This is a question, not a problem. There is a beautiful lace kitchen curtain pattern available as a free download on the Knitpicks site. Has anyone charted this?
Thank you!
Hi everyone, I am wondering if there are any errors in the candle flame lace shawl pattern, I was doing great till
row 16 of the lace pattern,( not counting the first 18 knit rows)...all of a sudden I had lost stitches!!!! I had to frog
and start all over..I had the same problem when I got to the end of row 16..hope you can help...
Hi there,
There aren't any errors in the chart that we know of - I'd suggest swatching a few repeats of the pattern in worsted weight so that you can see your stitches well and get a good feel for the pattern. Row 16 is a WS row, so there shouldn't be any shaping done on that row. Also, be mindful of where the pattern says "end last repeat.."; it means to substitute those directions for what is given in the repeat.
