I could really use a "Family Photo" of the Wool of the Andes colors . . . there's not enough screen space for me to see all the colors on the same page, and it would be really, really useful. Please please please??? It would make ordering so much easier!

Thanks so much for your time, and help. :o)

Exactly how dark a green is the "forest heather" shade of Stroll Sock? One of my "...no, srsly, don't even ask" projects has me looking for a green that's about that hue, but dark enough to read as black at a first glance, which I can't exactly tell properly on my monitor...

Hi Samantha

I wouldn't describe the Forest Heather as super dark - it's more of a pine-y color, with light variations. Lumberjack tweed is a bit darker (but more olive) but I don't think we have anything like you are describing :( Sorry!

Hope this helps

I think this is the right place to put this:

Cleaning my yarn. I made the baby a beautiful sweater is the swish DK (I think that's write it's superwash wool). Well, she's gotten some kind of food on it kind of ground into one of the cables. What's the best way to take care of this problem? Should I just throw it in the washer and see if it comes out? Or is there a pretreating technique which may be really effective in solving this problem? I really love this sweater and want to maintain it as nice as possible. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Jen

My suggestion is to first soak the sweater in warmish water for a bit to see if the food particles will loosen up. I wouldn't use anything like Shout or anything. Then I'd throw it in the washer on gentle to see if it will come out - I'd wait before throwing it the dryer until the food is all out. :)

Hope this helps! Others with more experience with this might have other suggestions! :)

I'd like to make a very soft, very warm pair of men's fingerless gloves from one of the more luxurious yarn blends. Options I'm considering include Elegance, Andean Treasure, and Andean Silk. I've worked with Elegance before, but not the other two, so I'm having a hard time deciding which yarn (or whether there's even another option I've missed). Any feedback on what you all would use/prefer? My main interest is that the gloves be as soft and luxe as possible.

Thanks!!

I knitted a pair of mittens recently using the new City Tweed HW yarn, and they are so very soft and cuddly. You might like that. --S

The Gloss line is one of my favorite yarn lines - very luxurious & warm for fingerless gloves! :)
