I loved using the Comfy for my baby knitting - it is very good yarn.

Susan, the orig. pattern called for red heart (an acrylic). I checked on ravelry, and a couple people did use a kp yarn (simply cotton sport, for one) Do you think comfy would be a good substitute? (concerning drape)

thanks!

It absolutely would be a good substitute.  Comfy and Simply Cotton are a tad bit different, but I think if you are looking for drape, Comfy is the way to go.  I have used Simply Cotton on several pieces, too and love it as well.  If you want the softness of cotton both are good choices.
well, i got trhe comfy just now! i actualy don't like the drape so much on the cotton yarns - i like a firm fabric like wota or cascade!! BUt i think it will be ok. thanks again susan~!
kp has a GREAT yarn... I used to use red heart yarn & am sold on the better quality yarn that kp has to offer! I haven't bought red heart in years now lol
I second that... no more acrylic for this knitter!
Thanks, ya, i am a die hard KP fan. i never use acrylic ;o) it is like knitting with recycled soda bottles, lol. feels horrible.
I am not sure if this is the right spot, but I am in need of a couple or few skeins of Shine Sport Silver Sage.
Mary, I don't have any. Perhaps we need KP to set up a place for yarn swapping. Ravelry is a really good place to find someone wanting to destash some yarn. I suggest you check there to see if you can find someone who might have this and are willing to part with it.
Thank you. I have tried. I have messaged a few people there and am waiting on responses.
Hmmm...., you might think about joining one of the KALs. [Though I'm not sure which one would be best. Perhaps the UFO KAL.] Someone there might have a lead for you. I think more people frequent there than the discussions here.
Amanda, I was listening to the most recent podcast yesterday, and Kelley and Kerin said that double stranded fingering weight is about DK in size/weight... but you need to do a test swatch to determine the needle size you should use.  Kerin said that she used a US 7 for her project out of this yarn.
