I have finally fished out the Chroma Yarn from my box and I must say it is so soft and gorgeous!  Cant wait to start my fingerless mitts!
Isn't the chroma so lovely? Make sure to post pics when you are done! we can never see too many chroma projects :)

Hi Amanda,

Suri Dream is unfortunately discontinued which is why it was not part of the latest project planning guide catalog. As for the Aloft, since the catalogs are done quite a bit in advance we did not have time for yarn samples, photo shoots, etc before the catalog had to be proofed, finished and sent the printers. The catalog is a bit of a long process, so we weren't able to feature Aloft in this issue.

Hope this info helps clear things up :)

Time for Amanda to learn to spin? If you can find someone with a suri alpaca, maybe you can get some fiber and card it with wool to make a nice yarn. I love KP's spinning fiber, and the WotA (Peruvian Highland Wool) is my favorite, unless it's for DGD2, who has to have everything machine washable.

ohhh...good idea! When you can't find what you want, learn to make it, right? ;)

I am slowly "dipping my toes" into drop spindling and it is really fun! My only problem...I want it to go much faster! I see spinning with a wheel in my future :)

I see a spinning wheel in your future, too! It does go faster. You can get pretty fast with a spindle with practice, though!
Jenny, My daughter got her spinning wheel last Thursday... she has already spun two fabulous skeins of yarn.  I highly recommend spinning!
It will happen in time! But I think you are hooked!
A drop spindle can be almost free. KP fiber is relatively inexpensive. Time? One nice thing about spindling is you can take it everywhere with you and every time you have a minute or two you can spin a few feet of singles.
I know I am probably the LAST person to make Kate Davies owl sweater & wanted to know what yarn to use?
It asks for 12-ply & plies aren't listed in any details. Has anyone else used worsted yarn for that sweater or what
can I used to make my first ever sweater project less stressful? LOL!
Thanks for your time =)
Liz
I haven't knit this either, but went over to Ravelry and looked up the pattern, and looked to see the types of yarn others had used successfully.  Many of them used chunky or bulky yarns. I think both of those fit into the gauge of the 12 ply yarns.  Hope this helps some.

Thank you very much!!! I just started using Ravelry & didn't know you could look up other peoples projects on that particular sweater... I learn something everyday! I Love it!!!

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question & so promptly =) Now I can get this thing  started!!!
