I called customer service, and another was shipped to me, no questions asked and without having to return the defective one. I called Saturday, it shipped Monday, and I got it Friday. Permalink Reply by Knit Picks Admin on July 30, 2008 at 3:55pm: The 16" should work for you - our Easy Peasy hat pattern uses a US 10 16" fixed circular with bulky yarn, and there is plenty of room for all of the stitches on the needle.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Knit Picks Admin on August 4, 2008 at 7:33am: You could do a modified ML with a 24" cable, but you'll have less free cable to play with and you might find your movement restricted. It mostly depends on how large your project is. For infant baby pants, I think you'd be fine with a 24" circ, but for a larger baby I would get a longer cable.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by strawbie on September 1, 2008 at 10:16pm: I posted this a few days ago to the Options list by mistake...guess it should have gone here under fixed needles, since I am wondering about smaller sizes. I am wondering if there are any plans to make a sharper set of Options to use for fine lace work? (and tiny ones, too...down to 0000 would be fantastic). I loooove my Options, but they're not sharp enough for the piece I'm working on right now and I am getting really frustrated. I am using J&S Shetland Supreme 1 ply and sz.2 needles. In the meantime, any ideas on how to make the tips sharper? I've heard you can file them down, but I'm chicken to do that to my beautiful needles.

However, I have an idea that I would love to see; maybe some of you would, too. How about the possibility of a range of Harmony crochet hooks?

Permalink Reply by Knittipina on October 2, 2008 at 6:48pm: Hi, I'm a very happy Knitpicks Fixed Circulars owner (32" long, sizes 0-3 including in between mm sizes). I live in the Philippines, and since Knitpicks doesn't ship internationally I had the needles shipped to my aunt in CA who then shipped them to me. I also own Addis, but am loving the KP pointy ends and really flexible cables for socks. All that trouble and waiting has been worth it!

I've made 5 pairs of socks since learning Magic Loop (using Ann Budd's "Getting Started Knitting Socks") and the people who've received them (my mother, 2 girl friends, 2 toddlers) are quite pleased. I really should be ordering Imagination yarn next.

Am now also lusting after the Harmony needles. I'll find a way to get them to me one day soon :); ▶ Reply to This

I have the Options Interchangeable Needles and love, love them! I am fairly new to knitting socks and enjoy knitting them. (I have only knitted two pairs of socks. One with bamboo DPN's and one with two socks on one circular needle). I think that I enjoy the DPN's more and am looking to purchase some. The Options metals DPN's look great but I was wondering if anyone could tell me if they are too slippery? Also I think the Harmony needles are beautiful but am wondering if the colors are too distracting when knitting with different colors of yarn?

I am also open to using the circulars but they seem a bit fussy with all the manipulating you have to do to move from one sock to the next. It seems that even though I am knitting two socks at once, the process does not flow as easily as the DPN’s

I would love to hear what others think…..any advise?; ▶ Reply to This

I ordered all the size1-3 fixed nickel circulars for magic loop because everyone I talk to raves about how wonderful they are, that the points are the best and that no one has better cables.

I have knit socks using dpns, 2 circs and magic loop, and my opinion is that magic loop rules! No more second sock syndrome, and both socks are exactly the same length, even if I don't take notes on the first one. With Magic Loop I don't have to worry about losing stitches off the dpns when traveling with them. I didn't enjoy 2 circs because I didn't like having the waiting tips dangling and bouncing around while I worked. Of course this is just my experience and opinion.; ▶ Reply to This

I've been knitting socks using this method only since. I haven't tried the two socks at once because with the Magic Loop method I am finished so quickly with the first sock, that second socl syndrome never happens with me. Last week end I completed a set of socks in less than two days.One of the great things about Magic Loop is that there is nearly no chance of lossing stitches, and laddering is minimal to nonexistant.; ▶ Reply to This
