And I do have to say I love it that KP thought of that problem with the longer points and not being able to make circles. I'd hate to tell you that I have snapped a couple of cables on a different brand (and expensive ones!) trying to get them into a circle without laddering a whole sock.
I love the Harmony interchangeable needles and they are just beautiful and I like the weight and sharp points, but I have one problem. I'm right handed and after each row, I have to screw the right needle back on and even dropped a few stitches the first time the tip separated from the cable. I occasionally have to tighten the left needle, but it's not nearly as bad as the right. Is there anything I can do to keep the pieces attached until I'm ready to change the configuration? I see that others have had the connector problems on the fixed needles, and they can be glued but not the interchangeable ones.
PS. I love knowing I'm not the only one with multiple sents of interchangeables
I also hope that you do the cable connector thing! Your cables are great, and I never thought I'd like anything better than my Addi Turbos from Skacel!!!
I found that the first few times I used my beloved Harmony needles one or the other tip would start coming off the cable. I learned to make sure that I used the "key" to securely tighten the connection. If you do that each time you pick up your needles, I bet your problem will go away. At least it's worth a try!
You are so right about the each time you pick up your needles part. But that is an improvement over every row. Now I relate to the ladies that want a necklace and a Fimo handle for the key.
By the way, if you really want to impress people, get some of the Gossamer yarn in the Trail color before it's gone--it matches the needles perfectly and you will look so coordinated!
I received my needles while we were on vacation so I finally cast on last night. I LOVE THEM, so smooth and light. So far no trouble with them coming loose but I will check them as I go along. Thanks for a great product.
I love the Harmony needles that I already have. So much so that I am ordering the set. I love the look of them, but I agree with some of the earlier post about some neutral tips. I would love to see laminated tips of dark brown, brown, tan, and beige. They could be a special addition.
I love these needles I ordered them to knit another prayer shawl because I needed circs (the straights have too much that hang off and it hurts your wrist after a while. ) Anyway I ordered them in a size thirteen and they are absolutly amazing. I have had no trouble with them whatsoever. The joins are very smooth and the yarn doesn't fall off. AMAZING!!!!!!
I love my Knitpicks Harmony Options interchangeable set, but I want to do socks on two circs. You don't have the smaller sizes in the points. I really don't want to have to buy more circular kneedles!
Why can't I buy size 0-3 in the interchangeable points? Please consider making these smaller sizes available in the interchangeable points.
Thanks,
Pam
We don't make interchangeable tips for sizes 0 to 3 because the metal screw on the end of the cable is larger than the diameter of the needle tip. For example, if you used a size 1 tip with the standard cables, your stitches would have to slide over a bump that's the equivalent of a size 4 needle, distorting your stitches and throwing off your gauge. For this reason, we make the smaller diameter needles available as fixed circulars.
Harmony wood needles are my absolute favorite!!! I hate metal because they hurt my fingers and they bend so easily... bamboo is lovely but often doesn't have the nice sharp point and I constantly worry about having one snap on me. The Harmony line is FANTASTIC!!! After getting the interchangeable circular set for sweaters and loving them, I saved my pennies and bought all the options circulars and the DPN set. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! The point, the grip, the look, the extra needle, the solid interchangeable screw in settings AND They don't bend so tight knitters like me can happily knit away! My only sorrow is that some of my cords are getting a memory and so are constantly looping on me. Still one small complain and a wealth of praise!
