I have fibro too, but I prefer the Nickels. Because they are hollow, not solid nickel, and because most of the needle is covered with stitches, (the way I hold them anyway), I find they warm up very quickly. In fact, I've never noticed the issue of hot/cold ever with them. But, for me, the most important factor with the nickels have been that they are nice and slick so I'm not fighting with my needles/stitches. I'm a tight knitter too, so that is really the biggest issue for me with any of my needle work.
I love the Harmony wood too, but knit with that almost entirely using DPNs with point protectors on one end for small knitting... mostly swatches and other narrow flat work.
The other equally important feature of the KP Options needles, are those incredibly flexible cables! I'm an Addi Turbo convert, and although I learned Magic Loop on AT, and I will still press a set of AT into service once in a while, I won't use them for Magic Loop at all after being spoiled with KP cables! (Not to mention those awesome KP pointy points!) :-) Mostly I find I'll use the larger diameters with worsted weight or thicker yarn for something like an afghan, so I hang onto them for such things.

I had two AT 24" lace circs that I wore out on socks. $26 is too much for something that wears out (They were $13 each!). I've never had a KP needle that has worn out, and I have sets of two circs in every size in the fixed 24" needles, both NP and Harmonies. I do like the Zephyrs for darker yarn, though, so I have a set in the Options. I use the Zephyrs for darker yarn and the Harmonies for light-colored yarn. I have a few NP, and I like them, too! I may get the whole set eventually!

I have some of all the KP needles, my favorites are still the Harmony, even my DD who does not knit , said those are the most beautiful needles------have been very happy with all the needles, when one t ip split, customer service had a new one out really fast. that is great service. Irene

I've had trouble with three of my needles, different issues each time. They were quick to replace them. With all the needles I've bought from KP, the percentage with problems has still been very low.

Last week I got my sample needle pack, and immediately did a swatch with each type of needle. They are wonderful. Last night I ordered my first set as a reward for the purchase of my new home. I will be spending more time at home and will love making home made gifts for family and friends. I do wish that the cables came in a smaller size like a 16 inch. I like to make hats on that size, but I have other needles if I have to use them. I am fairly new to using your company but so far I have been extremely pleased. I look forward to a long working life together. Happy knitting to all.

I have a friend who likes 16" circs and has a complete set of them. I find the tips to short for the way I knit. Apparently, if you use the normal interchangeable tips with a 16" cable, you wouldn't be able to get the tips together to knit. This problem can be solved by using two 24" circs for hats, sleeves and socks. You knit half of your piece with one circ and the other half with the other. What do you do if you only have two tips the right size? Put one size smaller on the end you're knitting off from and the correct size on the end you're knitting with. Works great! Another way to do the same thing is called magic loop. You might have heard of it. You can do that with your interchangeable tips and a longer cable.
Now if you really have to have a 16" circ, they're available, tips, cable and all, and they aren't that expensive. You just have to buy them separately. One of the neat things about this community is you get lots of ideas of different ways to do things. You can try out different ways and pick the one you like. I've really learned a lot here. -P

Measure one of your Options tips, multiply that by 2, and it won't take long to understand why they don't offer an interchangeable cable shorter than 24 inches. :-) The tips are just too long to be functional. However, you can get the Fixed Circulars, which have shorter tips, in 16" length. You can get them in sizes ranging from 2mm - 8mm. They run from $4.99 to $7.99, depending on the diameter/size and material you decide on. If you really prefer to use 16" circulars, you can just get the size you need as you decide on a project that requires a size you don't have.
For economy, however, you may want to follow Peggy's suggestion and use two 24" circulars. It will ::gasp:: require a second set of tips in that size, but my experience is, if you knit much at all, you'll end up with two (at least) set of tips for all or almost all sizes anyway... certainly in the sizes you tend to use most often. :-)
Or, you can do what I do: learn to do Magic Loop; there is also a demonstration of knitting in the round with 2 circulars. I knit smaller diameter projects with one 24" circular and larger diameters with as long as a 40" on one circular. This does not require a second set of tips, and it takes about 10-20 minutes to learn Magic Loop and about 20-30 minutes to master the basics. :-) Make one project in Magic Loop, and you'll be an expert. LOL!

I just received my Harmony needles today. I was so excited that I think I startled our mail man. I'm absolutely IN LOVE with these needles! The points on them are far superior to my old needles, and the cables aren't twisty like others that I have used.
Thank you, Knit Picks, for providing knitters (and crocheters) with such awesome products.
(I hope to see a set of Harmony crochet hooks sometime in the future :D )
