I am not sure where to put this but it would be nice to see some brighter colors in the essential sock line and kettle dyed. Even a little be lighter colors. I really like the new bright colors of the Risata line.
i have a granddaughter arriving in late august and so i decided to make her blanket in a cotton blend instead of a wool one. i have found, in the past, that cotton yarns i have picked were heavy and had no "give". but i ordered Comfy Sport in flamingo and its just wonderful to work with. its light, soft and looks beautiful in the pattern i chose from debbie bliss's book "Simply Baby". i see all sorts of possibilities for my florida girl, alexis, and my other grands here in pa. i wholly recommend it.
I would love to make the Metropole Sweater-Coat from Mason-Dixon's Knitting Outside the Lines. The pattern calls for Brown Sheep's Bulky, but I would rather use a Knit Picks yarn. How would Cadena work? I need something that won't be scratchy/itchy, since I tend to break out in rashes from most wool yarns that touch my face and neck.
I have a pattern that calls for Lana Grossa Royal Tweed ( 14 sts to 4") and I need to know if KP City Tweed Heavy worsted would work or any other suggestions. I have never used KP yarn, but love the Option and Harmony needles. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I would say that it would work, but the drape might be different due to the alpaca content. (but so so soft! It's my favourite yarn at the moment) so it would depend on the pattern. Shamrock is actually closer to the same content as the Lana Grossa Royal Tweed.
What pattern are you looking at? That might be helpful in deciding.
I would really like to see Essential/Stroll Sock Yarn in a natural color and a twist with brown and natural. Something along the line of the new Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool Oak Tweed. The Oak Tweed is making a great Mr. F that looks like a Rockford Redheel Sock Monkey, but I really prefer Stroll. I know the Bare Superwash Merino, Nylon Sock Yarn is in the second Mr. F kit, but I would really like to see something more of a natural color instead of white.
Wool of the Andes is great for felting. I did a sample knit a couple of years back which was a very large tote called the "Weekender Bag". There was no bulky WOA at the time so I used regular WOA double stranded with size 11 needles. It felted perfectly and was very sturdy. I would guess that either version (worsted or bulky) would be equally acceptable depending on the pattern chosen.
