I am left-handed. I am trying my first sweater in the round. When I got to under the arms I started knitting back and forth. After about 4 rows I had a distinct line across the fabric and the stitches looked different. The sweater pattern is a 2x2 rib. I have figured out that I am knitting exactly like in the knit back backwards photo (which would be incorrect) and purling correctly. Is the line normal when knitting in the round? Do some people go to a smaller needle because the gauge changes and the knitting becomes looser? Do you have any suggestions about how to keep the same neat look for the entire fabric? Thanks for your help!
I figured it out! Both my knit and purl stitches were backwards, but none of my friends could see it. Thank you Knit Picks for having excellent pictures in your tutorials. A suggestion for a future tutorial is How to Knit for Lefties, with your excellent photographs.
Is there going to be another sock sampler for the new spring-y colors? Hopefully one that includes patterns? I really wished you had patterns to go with the yarns I got at Christmas.
I'm mainly a sock knitter, and would love cool new patterns, to go with yarn to maybe knit 3 pairs of socks instead of the 6 you had at Christmas.... ANd if you would offer it in a way where we could pick from groups of colors and groups of patterns that would be lovely.
Thanks.
Nisha
Is there any chance of KnitPicks offering yarn winding for skeins? I wouldn't mind paying extra sometimes to purchase a skein of yarn and to have it pre-wound so that it is ready to go when I get it.
I knit and crochet. I really wish you guys had more crochet hook options, I can't be the only one. Does anyone know if there are other sites like knit picks for crocheters?
