We just added a new product - sock blanks! They're double-knitted rectangles of sock yarn that you can dye to create self-striping, matching socks. We also put together video and PDF tutorials to teach you how to let your imagination run wild - you can check it all out right here.
Great idea!!! This will be so much fun. I can't wait to see everyone's finished projects. Also kudos on the video. It was very precise and informative.
Just saw the bit about the blanks on the main website. What an awesome thing to provide for us. Definitely will make dyeing our own yarn easy. Thanks. A great idea.

I am not ready to dye my own just yet. We are still in the middle of baseball season and my son and daughter are always at practice and games. I do a lot of sock knitting this time of year. Is there anywhere that I can purchase blanks that are already dyed and ready to knit. This rectangle would be awesome to take to the ball park. No more loose balls rolling away.
Hi baseball mom ~ Just thought I'd mention when I'm dragging around a Small Project like Socks I use a Quart Size Zippered freezer Bag (the Plastics Heavier can be Used over & over again) I poke a hole about 1/4 of the way down and Thread my Yarn thru the pencil Hole .... Yarn Always Stays Clean neat & Tangle free and of Course Still Fits in a Pocket :) if you don't drag a Huge Bag along ! Hope this Helps
OK, I got two of these, and they've been burning a hole in my studio while I wait for everyone to clear out and give me some time. I will try various colors mixed with grey to create muted shades for one of them. Can't decide about the other. Decisions, decisions!
I agree, I'd love to be able to take a rectangle with me instead of a ball with my socks. I'm not comfortable with dyeing yet, but I'd love to have the sock blanks pre-dyed for us!!!
